Here's Dr. Jemsek on "When a Dangerous Epidemic Meets a Broken Healthcare System".
Dr. Joseph Jemsek/Infectious Disease Specialist/Speaks The Trugh:

http://www.youtube.com/user/TheJemsekClinic

We have SO LITTLE to lose, and the Trillion dollar-profiting healthcare system we all have right now is content to watch each and every one of us whither and die.

I'm ready for *ANYTHING* by now.

Quotes from "Dr. Jemsek-

Regarding the CDC/IDSA suppression of facts in the Lyme epidemic: I excuse Dr. Lee Devlin, for whom I have great respect. She recently resigned, but the rest of you, including the current director-are SO BUSTED."

U.S. spends 630 billion more on healthcare than 30 other industrialized nations.-McKenzie Institute"
"Healthcare Premiums have increased more than 100% in 10 years. -Harris Interactive Poll"

More than 80% of Americans feel the healthcare system needs a fundamental change or a complete overhaul.- Harris Interactive Poll

"Private healthcare insurance was never intended to wield the sort of power that we see in today's marketplace. An nowhere is it more pervasive then with the diagnosis of Chronic Lyme.

OVERHEAD for Blue Cross/Blue Shield of NORTH CAROLINA last year only.....was over one BILLION dollars!"

THIS IS ONE STATE< ONE YEAR!

**Me talking: Note that the US Healthcare corporations have become SO FINANCIALLY powerful that they have the money to try to fool people into keeping them in power. This is going to be like defeating the Emperor.

This is a well-spent 10 minutes. This man is a wonderful, honorable doctor. He is more than a hero. If every American man were this honorable, what a wonderful country America would be!

I watched this twice- once myself and with my husband.

I thought it was very good. He does seem like an honest guy who wants to help and make a difference.

I dodn't perviously know how much he had to do with HIV/AIDS in the early days.

I can't imagine how a government who denies lyme disease is going to turn around and pay for our longterm care of lyme disease.

My health insurance carrier has paid for all my tests and my prescription meds. No doubt because I have no problem getting positive test results, not for lyme but for babesia, chlamydia p, mycoplasma p, h. pylori, rheum. arthritis.

I thank God for my health insurance. I doubt seriously that government will treat me as well.

Dr Jemsek stated the system is broken but NOT that we need a single payer system run by the government. Doctors need to go back to hands on care of patients, to having compassion and being inquisitive, not throwing out a patient when they can't figure out what is wrong with them. That is the part of healthcare he is disgusted with

I agree the current system needs help and if you listen carefully Dr J states it is because doctors don't think when they practice medicine, they don't listen.

The training of doctors has been influenced by drug companies and insurance companies. They follow guidelines and are protected by those guidelines, there is a drug for everything and if that doesn't work then an antidepressant will.

It is the caring physicians like Dr J, who step outside the "box" imposed by regulations and guidelines, that get singled out for "reprimand" by their medical boards and chastised by their collegues for daring to be different.

Do you really think a government run plan will allow for independent thinking?

This doesn't happen with just Lyme, docs cover for other docs who follow current dogma no matter how wrong the doctor might have been in treatment of the patient.

Genuine malpractice or neglegence is hard to prove when a physician has followed the guidelines in place.

The government wants to set up "best practices" to tell what treatment is best for each condition and hold physicians to those guidelines.

Isn't that how we all got here?

Lymelearned,

Thank you for posting this. Most anything will be better than what we have right now.

Some are happy with their health care, but most are not. Change of any kind will most likely be a welcome relief for most.

Dr. Jemsek is a hero and Renee is correct that part of our health care problem is that our doctors are indoctrinated by big pharm and insurace companies. Many, but not all use the 15 min rule and rush you out the door before they even know what is wrong.

And, when they can't figure out what is wrong, they throw you to the wolves(another doctor), who does not want you either.
