I am starting a new job and the health insurance they offer is through the Principal Financial Group (PPO).

I am not familiar with this insurance company and have not been able to find very much information. Does anyone have experience with them? Do they cover long-term antibiotics (oral)?

Right now, I am paying out of pocket for BCBS. BCBS has been good coverage (i.e. they haven't contested anything, and I've been on antibiotics for about two years now including 3 months of IV).

I'm worried about how the Prinicipal insurance would cover my treatment (the copays for the presciptions look for reasonable, but I am worried they will say my prescriptions aren't necessary).

Any information is greatly appreciated!! Thank you!!

I'm not familiar with Principal but don't call them specifically about lyme. Your LLMD may know crafty ways to code your illness and you don't want to blow the whistle on yourself.

Reading the handbook will help.

My insurance is a great BCBS plan too. I hope Principal will be equally as good.
