Man, I am so bumming right now. Two weeks ago i had a really super good week. I thought cuz my LLMD put me on some new abx that were maybe working. Then I started getting really sick again the last couple days.

It was weird cuz usually I have total insomnia. But all of a sudden I was hit with this wave of fatigue. Like I could hardly even talk or move. Then the next day it was that and a terrible headache that is still here three days later.

Well last night my belly was buggin me. Like it was burning. I reached down to itch, and there it was, a tick! Grrrr! I deer tick on top of that, not that it really matters. I think it was anyways cuz of size. Well when I scratched I scratched off the body but the head is still in there.

So I went to urgent care which gave me a script for two pills of doxy, Which I took this morning and threw them up a half hour later. So a lot of good that did. But they didn't even remove the tick.

He just told me I had to make an appt on Tuesday with the dermatologist to get a skin biopsy that will remove it. God knows how long it's been there and now I got to wait two more days just to make na appt to get it out. I tried tweezers and a pin but I'm just pushing it further in.

That's terrible, Lisa!! I hope you told those people that 2 pills wouldn't do much ( except make you throw up! ).

Were you able to call your LLMD yet?? Keep us posted on what happens. I hope you can get the head removed on Tuesday.

Here's praying for you!

"I" would give your husband,,tweezers in one hand,,good magnifying glass in other and tell him go after it at ALL costs.

IF he wont or unavailable,a sister, mother or anyone else that will HELP!!!

Then find some good unused dusty meds in the cabinet and have at it till you can reach your regular LLMD!!

Ok I got in today to the dermatologist. She was shocked the urgent care doc didn't just remove it right away.

So she numbed it and then dug around for awhile then said it was embedded between two pockets of skin that formed around it from leaving it there so long. Which I don't understand cuz I can see it.

She said she thought it was better to just leave it because my body was breaking it up naturally. I don't know why she didn't just do a skin punch, that would of just taken out the whole chunk so I woulnd't have to worry anymore.

So here I am after two Dr appts with a tick or tick head still in me. The derm thought it might be the whole tick that just burrowed under my skin then died for some reason. (Maybe I gave it lyme).

So anyways, I did call and make an appt with my LLMD. It's a month away but better then nothing. I left the story with the receptionist so he might call.

I think I will take Just Don's advice and go get some peroxide and a razor and get it out myself. An infection from that would be safer then having this thing in me.

Thank you for the prayers Lymetoo!

LisaS~ I am so sorry to hear about your tick bite and how you've been treated. How terrible!

I must say though...I giggled when I read your post, "Maybe I gave it Lyme"...I found that to be very cute. When it comes to lyme, there's not much to giggle about. Thanks.

Good luck! Hope that you got it out!

Lisa~No, I don't think the zith helped me at all. I was on it though when I was on Rocephin so it's hard to tell.

Sorry, wish I had a better answer for you!

Lisa,

Don't worry too much. First, it's probably just the mouth parts of the tick and the Derm is right, your body will break it down naturally. I know it's kinda gross, but it's natural.

Second, the bacteria is mostly in the gut of the tick, so it's not like you're getting a regular injection from the parts. Besides, whatever you were going be exposed to is done already. Cutting it out isn't going to keep you getting more of--whatever.

Third, since you've already been infected, and you're in abx, you are essentially immune to a reinfection. Your immune system aided by the abx should knock out any new bacteria. (This is what my LLMD told me).

I suppose you could have gotten exposure to a new co-infection, but I would guess only babs wouldn't be knocked out by any abx you're on (though maybe the zith would do it).

Anyway, I hope you feel better,

James

Thanks again everyone, James, you're right, my llmd just called me and told me not to worry about the tick. He is gong to review our gameplan though since I'm still so sick.

Feelfit, 3 miles? I can hardly make it to my mailbox, lol.
