Karen,
I have not been to the dentist since ? I recall trying to go when I was first out sick at work.
My thinking was it was a good time to go so I would not have to miss work to see the dentist once I returned to work.
Wrong. The Dentist would not check my teeth out..he wanted to know what I had first since I couldn't fill out the form and I had shortness of breath just getting into his chair, etc.
NOw, I don't have the insurance for the dentist but thankful no problems in that department too.

That's a shame you can't get to a dentist for preventive care, kam. I finally got insurance last March.
Takes one year for them to cover big things like root canals and crowns. So ... hubby had to have a root canal last week and I had a crown in May.
Sheesh! wouldn't you know it!?
Walked my mile this afternoon. Enjoyed my visit with my buddies!

5 min, rest, 5 min out. Did not rest long. There were shots being fired all around us.
On the way in went to look at the building pad that is being constructed...saw 4 javelina to my left so turned around and went the other way.
Didn't want Rosie and the javelina fighting over territory.
On down the road, they also had dug about 6 feet down...wondering what they are going to do there.
And I noticed they had laid pipes under the driveway...so that solves the problem of the creek that runs through there in the winter.
Vet told me about a dog getting shot during a sort of hunting accident on Friday.
She said one group was out hunting quail with their dogs and another group came towards them.
Two of the dogs got in a fight and someone decided to shoot one of the dogs to stop the fight.
So, if it is hunting season...and it sounds like it is...I think I will head somewhere safer now to take Rosie. Not sure where yet.

TuTu..you are right about the verve...I don't like the carbonation or the taste of it.
But, it did give me the idea of perhaps mixing the xango with something else as a treat.

I was not normal...but i did it..not as difficult as it has been this summer so things are improving.

Drove 20 min out of town on the highway. Found a new trail head called Hellsgate. Good trail for horses but it said the last 5 miles into Tonto Creek was not suitable for horses.
On my feet for 15 min. Good strong walk. incline starting out.
Trail is in the pines. Saw sun coming down the hill to the west of me.
Saw trees with blue marks on them??
Saw one of those campers that is for people and horses.
Saw a forest truck bringing in a small back hoe.
And they had a watering trough for horse at the entry gate.
Had the place to myself which I like. Peaceful.
Turn off is just past Green Valley. I went along the road to see what I could see of green valley.
Very nice ranch spread. Well done.
Thinking it would be good to find a trail head that is in the sun now that it is getting cooler.
Also thinking there might be a creek during the winter on the Hells gate trail as there was a dry creek bed there.
Down for the count now. Then will get up and see what I can do for breakfast.

I usually take the power chair from the apartment to the entry way.

I'm sorry but I am disgusted with the hunter that shot another dog just to stop a fight! That gives all hunters a bad name! Honestly, they should have the privilege of owning a gun revoked!
Miss Pris and I went to the mail today. But not much more. Both of us are dragging. She is going to get a bath tonight to wash the flea and tick stuff off. She will not be a happy camper...
KAM, I am enjoying your adventures. Please be careful with the hunters. We put fluorescent orange on our dogs and I wear a vest when I am out walking during hunting season.
KAM, they don't have any dental program at all for you? There is something wrong with that. I am glad you are not having teeth problems. I think I am going to break the world record for root canals. My teeth have hurt for about a year. Gets old.
My doc just told me to swish and spit 3% hydrogen peroxide diluted or full strength to help with bad bacteria in my mouth. He said to do it at night and not to brush or eat anything for about 20 minutes. He said it was good for my teeth and my gums. I am going to give it a try. It certainly is cheap enough.
Glad you are feeling a little better, Aklnwlf!
Keep up the good walking, Lymetoo!
Best, Karen

Alaskan Lone Wolf...glad you are feeling a bit better.
Karen..it seemed like there must have been something else that could have been done.
I also wonder how that works legally.
Did Ms Pris get her bath??
I noticed a bright red shirt when I was driving to the trail head this evening.
No cars there so wondered where that bright red shirt went...then saw them through the forest.
So, colors really do make a difference.
I put Rosie working vest on her but that would not do the trick.
I just did that because I was out a while back and needed her help getting back to the car.
I still need the hard handle vest as the soft one is too short.
OK brain is struggling...
10 min loop tonight...
I was able to check out the building pad. Nice location.
And noticed they had put in 3 more pipes and built the dirt up for the other streams that run through there in the winter.
Also walked into check my mail at the PO tonight.
Being on my feet this evening was not as "normal" as i was this am but still able to do it.
I enjoyed this am's adventure.
I also was able to empty the dishwasher and put the dirty dishes in....bit by bit today...doing a little then resting and then doing a bit more.
Pots and pans and counter tops and stove still need to be cleaned.

Sounds good, kam!!! How about some cranberry juice with it??
kgg.. What kind of dog is Miss Pris?
Root canals... ugh.. I got a new crown in May and am still having trouble with it. Dentist checked it on Xray and it looks good, but he says I may still need a root canal. I sure hope not. I think they are bad for us Lymies!!
Right now, he says it's pulpitis.
No walking today .. except ! I went clothes shopping! I don't do that too often but winter is coming and I needed a few things.
Got a new purse too!! I basically got the purse for free since I saved so much on sale items! Plus the purse was $25 off to begin with!!

I'm with karen on the dog shooting. Poor way to break up a dogfight.
So glad to hear Kam and Aklnwlf are doing better!
Kam I thought you said we only had to clean the counters once a year?? And you did dishes too?? I hope your bed isn't made on top of it all!
Regarding teeth, read an article years ago about baking soda. Seems it kills the bacteria that leads to gingevitis.
At night I floss, use a tool to clean the gums, brush, and then brush again with the baking soda. Morning I floss, use gum tool, brush and then rinse with hydrogen peroxide.
TMI???? LOL.
In town all day Monday so no exercise, and walked yesterday and did some cleaning and getting ready for my Dad's visit. Love to see him!.
Ankle is pretty bad so I just got a soft brace for it. Tendon, muscle and joint issues that I hope will pass.
Will try and do the walk again today if the ankle holds up. Be blessed y'all!!

TuTu...your shopping trip sounded like a positive experience for you. This is good. Finding a purse that works and getting it for free sounds like fun.
Going shopping with lyme and company is so much different than shopping as a normal "human noid"
I had a lot of teeth problems in the 90's. Xrays did not show why my teeth hurt.
I did have a root canal in one of them. Looking back I wonder if some of the problem were a lyme thing.
I could not drink cold or hot without a lot of pain. I also had TMJ or ? can't recall what it is called but it is when the jaw makes that cracking noise and feels like it is popping in and out.
Sure hope you and Karen get beyond the teeth thing soon. Ouch!
Cranberry juice with the xango sounds good. I will be starting my second bottle of xango today.
The first bottle went fast.
I need to let G know that I really appreciate her sending them and how it is helping.
i can't figure that counter thing out either. Kind of confusing. You would think if you washed it once a year it would stay clean??
I am down for the count this am. Took Rosie out to toilet just outside the front door in my robe and Power Chair.
So, she is confused and needs to get out and stretch her legs. But, she will be Ok until I am able to let her do this.
MM...I agree. If the gun was not involved they would have had to find another way to break things up. Too quick to use the gun I feel.
Sure hope your ankle heals fast.

No walking for Miss Pris and I today. Raining hard. She had a bath this morning and has been cuddled up in her bed ever since.
Lymetoo, Miss Pris is an 11 yr old Golden Retriever. I am not really a girly, girl. But she sure is a girly girl dog!
I am getting exercise by all of the stair climbing I am doing today trying to get laundry done. What I really want to do is take a nap!

Karen, I thought it was some little fluffy dog!! Goldens are great!
kam.. I'm very picky about purses. I have about 10, but use 2! My black one for winter was 3-4 yrs old. I love it, but it's getting a bit worn looking. The handles are getting cracked too.
So I look for months before I find one I will buy. This one is kinda big, (and I'm small) but I really like it and big is in!
Do you need Geneal's address again?
Melody.. what kind of gum tool are you talking about? Is it battery operated.. that kind??
oh...
I walked a mile today!!! woo hoo!

TuTu..bet it was great to be out for that mile walk.
I am the same way with purses. I had one for years..one of those back saver purses until the zipper went and I got sick.
It got a bit tricky finding a purse that would work when I was in the power chair. I finally found one at a consignment store.
I think I have Geneal's address. I just need my brain to work well enough for hand writing.
I sent her a PM letting know I got it.
I was able to walk into the post office and check my mail box tonight and then drove to the school down the street and walked into it and was on my feet a bit.
Looked into three of the windows. One school teacher had a great bulletin board outside her classroom.
She did an ocean scene including a plastic bucket and shovel.
She also had a ...darn can't recall what they are called...not a surf board but the board you use to skim across the surf on shore..skim board??
She had painted it with her name and had fish with the names of her students.
The bulletin board had pictures of all the sea life.
it was well done.
I had a ting of sorrow about not teaching but right now I couldn't even volunteer an hour in the classroom due to health.
I had that inflamed brain thing today and bloating. Inflamed intestines. HA!?
Started doing a bit better after 3 or 4 pm. But, just well enough to get Rosie out to toilet and kick up her heels a bit.
Back down for the count now.

yeah, there are some things I miss about teaching! I loved dreaming up new bulletin boards.
Until the past few years I haven't even felt like stepping foot into a classroom. Lately I've been getting the itch to volunteer. But I'm pretty busy at church....getting busier.
I do miss the kids. Remember when we sent you those postcards!?

Gosh. I don't know. I am still getting post cards from an email friend who is traveling to a lot of beautiful nature areas.
They camp and kayak all over within the US.
her husband is a retired ranger.
Thurs am: needed an attitude change this am. Got one!
Drove out to Chapparell (sp?) trail head.
Lost count of how many Elk I saw on the way. First 4, then 1, then 7, then ?
Higher math when my brain can only deal with what I can count on one hand. HA!
Walked 5 min in. Found a boulder in a field that was just the right size to sit on...had to try about 3 different spots on the boulder until I found just the right spot.
Rest, then walked back out. No Elk at all on the way out. Amazing.
So, thankful I saw all I did on the way in. Very cool.
Rosie started crying when we passed dogs on the way back so I knew it was time to go to the dog park.
She had fun visiting with her friends.
The dog park is really too much for me. Too much going on...too noisy. Nice people, but i prefer the quiet of the outdoors.
So, we were out about a good hour this am.
Brain feels like it is a bit swollen from trying to carry on a conversation at the dog park.
Too much. Hope the pressure lets up soon.

The vets around here have told me to be careful as they have had to sew up a few dogs. The Bull Elk will go after a dog.
We were in the car when we saw them.
Rosie and I drove back out there tonight, but didn't see any. I have heard they are out at dawn and dusk.
Not dusk yet here.
But, I did walk 5 min, rest on the boulder and then walked back out.
I can't see where the trail goes without actually being on it and going up a slight incline.
So, hoping one of these times I will be able to go further.

The gum tool I use is angled plastic that you place a toothpick into, then tighten the turner and break off the excess. Two ends. You then run the toothpick along the gum line to clean it out.
Words wonderfully. I'll try and find out what the actual name of it is if I see it in a store. Got mine from my dentist.
Walked today, but didn't get the tai chi or weights in. My Dad flew in today, and after a very nice dinner with our daughter and soninlaw, we are all staying over their house.
Will get back on track this weekend. Wishing you all blessings!

Looks like I will miss water therapy this am.
Noticed last time, I had to miss due to going for a short walk the night before.
So, I will work on this and try to space out the movement of the body.
Or it could be because I was awake again in the middle of the night and in and out of sleep until I finally decided to stop trying at 5:30 am.
I lay by the computer and listen to a message from the Hour of Power or Insight for Living.
They put me to sleep but then I keep waking up and have to start the message over.
Took Rosie out in my robe and down coat this am and the power chair of course.
Time to put my gloves in the power chair and the car as my hands were hurting from the cold and we just went across the street.

I did not have what it took to be on my feet.

it brought back memories of when I had my home at the beach with a fireplace and reading next to the fire.

Miss Pris and I went to the mail, but that was all I did yesterday. I started my Minocycline, only 50mg and it put me to bed. I hurt in places yesterday that I did not know had been Lyme affected. In light of my reaction, I will be pulsing it until it doesn't floor me.
I hope to finally get my other door painted today before it is too cold to do so. I don't want to go through the winter with one blue and one white, looks funny.
Have a good Saturday every one! Karen

Thanks for the link, KAM. It was interesting. I went through it and there was no specific info on exercise. She mentions it at the end as a way to handle a die off reaction for kids with ASD.
I did not get the door painted yesterday. They said it was supposed to be a sunny day. Well the sun came out at 4 PM. Not sure if it will happen today or not.

Still waiting for one of those mornings when I am able to drive out to a trail head and go for a short walk.
I was able to drive to the dog park this am. Walking in was difficult as well as walking out.
Only there long enough for Rosie to toilet.
Rosie did not get her exercise while we were there. She just stood by my side.
Thankful I remembered to put my gloves on this am.
Need a different pair of slip on slippers or boots when I am not able to put my shoes on...as the rocks were a problem on my feet this am.
Took 2 excedrin when I got back. Hoping I will be able to clean up in the kitchen this am after the excedrin kicks in.
Feeling discouraged. NOt sure how long it has been since I was out to see the Elk and be on my feet in the great outdoors.
