You know those negative thoughts that can pull you down, down, down?
I'd not only "visit" this one thought, I'd park "there". IF ONLY...
Fall 2003 I got bit by a tick. Had the bulls eye rash.
Doctor #1 prescibed ten days of abx and said, "just in case because Oklahoma doesn't have Lyme".
Doctor #2 (ER room visit) said, "All your tests are normal. Go see a MS or Lupus specialist and be tested."
Doctor #3 said, "Hmmm looks like Lyme Disease bulls eye rash". Left the room. Came back about five minutes later. "I'll just write in your chart, 'Malaise and flu-like symptoms'". He referred me to the Infectious Disease Specialist.
Doctor #4 Infectious Disease Specialist--you don't even want to know what he said. Let's say he was VERY rude (to put it mildly).
1 1/2 years later finally started getting treatment for Lyme Disease.
I would "park" and say, "IF ONLY Doctor #1 had given me one or two months of abx, it would have saved me a lot of pain and heartache." I parked on that negative thought that pulled me down longer than I'd care to admit, IF ONLY..."
Then one day I decided, "Visit but NO MORE PARKING!"
I've been symptom free for five months now. Yahoo!!! Wrote my story and posted it under "Success Stories" page 2, it's at the bottom.
My fellow Lyme Survivors, I encourage you to learn from my mistake--Those negative thoughts: Visit but DON'T PARK.

daisy,
great thought/motto "visit don't park" .
love it...gonna keep it in my "great sayings folder"
my mom always said when we were growing up, "bloom where you're planted but don't be pot-bound"
meaning blossum but don't become stagnet with your life. keep moving forward.

Bettyg,
Your mom sounds like a wise woman. I like that saying.
Bettyg and Daisy are blooming today and we're not pot-bound. Movin, movin forward. Big Smile.
Have a great week.
