I restarted rifimpin again 2 days ago. I was on it before but have such a hard time with it. I get horrible symptoms while I am on it. Anyway I noticed last night along my jaw line and in my cheek, swollen lymph nodes. anyone else??? I am scared.

I was on Augmentin recently for a post-H1N1 cough that would not end,and about halfway through the dose, my lymph nodes under each jaw and something in the front of my throat swelled up. They never figured out why, but it lasted quite awhile..weeks on and off. Gone now. Little bit of a sopre throat sometimes but rarely. The good news is that they were not concerned about cancer because they came and went, and were so sudden.
Hope that helps alleviate the worry for you this morning...at least a little bit! I know it is so scary.

yes it does help. Thank you. i have been in treatment for 9 mos. now, and the bart. is really kicking my but. I hate rifampin with a passion, but my doc says I need it because of a bartonella overload? While on it here are some of my symptoms, sweating, shakes, breakouts of acne ( I am 39) dizziness, stretchmark like rashes appear out of nowhere, and now the swollen lymph nodes. I am not on any detoxers because I am running out of finances, so I wonder if this may be the problem

Hopefully someone can help with the Bart questions/symptoms, as fortunately, I don't think I have that in my mix if icky tick stuff!
I have never been on Rifampin either....just Doxy and Rocephin for the Lyme and RMSF. I am just 6 months into the illness, and had been given all the IDSA meds by my ID, and then dumped by him! Now on my own and much improved....hopefully all done with meds...
I am getting ready to do some detox stuff though-I already drink tons of water, and I have added lemon. I am thinking of starting the Dr. M detox diet, but that should be interesting with the holidays coming up!
Take care

lad1121,
I have been away for several days and just saw your post.
If you haven't already done so, you may want to post your question on the Medical Questions board instead.
I think you will get alot more responses.
It sounds like a bart herx to me.
