sixgoofykids, thanks for your kind words. I was reading your blog. You sound like you are moving right along with your recovery.
How long did you have lyme before being cured?

janice,
It's going to be a bumpy ride but stick with your treatment. It will all be worth it some day.
I herxed for almost a year straight in the beginning of treatment. I am so thankful now that I didn't give up.
I can see the light at the end of the long, winding tunnel now and you will get there, too!!!!

All I can say if I know what you mean...I will be feeling some better then pow i feel totally terrible again...just the other night I wasn't sure if I would make it through the night...seriously..not kidding...
it's so hard but I am just trying to take one day at a time.
I see you are in Va as well. I am in Central part and we are getting snow so perhaps you are getting it as well.
I know it can be a "pain" to deal with but just try to look at it from the "beautiful" standpoint....perhaps a gift from God. and I will be praying for you to have a better day tomorrow.
If you live ANYWHERE close to me and there is anything I can do for you PLEASE let me know.
Hugs and prayers,
Karen

Joalo, thanks for the kind words as well.
I know it's a tough ride as everyone here knows especially you being sick for so long.
What finally pushed you to almost the winding tunnel? Any certain med? exercise?
I don't know where I would be without everyone's support and understanding during this tough time.

Karen, just read your post. Thanks as well. I like your perspective.
I live in northern VA and if you need anyone to talk to, please let me know.
Sometimes someone who knows what if feels like can make all the difference.
It's hard as H_________. I pray and my therapist says let your body be and just try and ride it out since you know what it is. I agree with her but when the pain kicks in,,omg, help please.
thanks again. Janice

I totally know what you are feeling. Just came out of about a week of feeling awful, worse than I have felt in a while.
I have been in treatment a year and a half and still feel bad a lot. Starting to have more good days though, and you will too.
I have good and bad days and then bam!!!!! It hits hard and is very discouraging. I think this is when the ketes are being killed and then they release toxins and it makes us feel horrid. I try to think of it that way and it makes it a little easier.
Just hang in there and know that you will eventually feel better. Its all about time and "patience", which I am still working on myself.
Hope you feel better soon!

janice,
I'm not sure how long you have been treating, but my LLMD's nurse says not to expect any real improvement in the first 6 months because there is too much herxing.
Maybe the snow is God's way of reminding us that there is beauty all around us, even when things really seem dark and dismal underneath.
You WILL have better days. I will say a prayer for you.

I think it was the bicillin (14 months) and doxy (9 months) combo that made the biggest improvement for me.
I've been very careful what I eat this past year and have lost twenty pounds. I have been making sure I walk at least twenty minutes daily.
I've been eating gluten-free and sugar-free also. I have been taking sleep meds and getting at least eight hours of sleep every night.
I am taking better care of myself now than I ever have in the past and I think it's a combination of all of it that is working for me.

dekrator48, I have been treating for only five months. I have heard the same that the turning point for some is the six month of treatment.
Thanks for the prayers. I really could use it. I'll say one for you as well.
I don't know why today is such a tough day. I had some wine last night which I don't usually do. I had just finished a two week stint of tindamax.I'm wondeirng if I didn't wait long enough before having some wine. I had a terrible headache, nausea, dizzy all the symptoms that Drinking and tindamax combined will produce.

suthrngrl, i like the way you think. It's very positive. I seem to be positive when I'm busy and the pain isn't the for front of my day.
I hope you feel better soon. How long did you have lyme before being diagnosed?

Recovery isn't an easy road.
Not by a long shot.
The best you can do on some days is to tie a knot in the end
Of your rope and just hang on.
Sending you Angels and prayers to help you hang on.
I remember thinking about when I would feel better.
I stopped counting months and started counting little improvements.
After a while those little improvements started adding up.
I am going into a relapse after being mostly symptom free after 6 months.
I just take a deep breath, let it out and then Thank God
For giving me those 6 months. I am so grateful.
Hugs,
Geneal

OTM~ Well you definitely put a smile on my face.
Thanks so much. I'm not giving up. I see a lot of good days compared to a month ago. I'm back to work full time and making extra money to pay for the LLMD who I see every three weeks.
I'm a teacher who instructs special needs students mainly with autism, Down Syndrome etc. I find such joy in them and mine aches, pains sometimes seem so trivial compared to their lives and struggles. I feel like I am their advocate, protector from those that don't understand them.
This site and its members have given me such hope and understanding that I can't begin to tell you.
I'm here for anyone who needs help, understanding as well.
