Sounds like we have some challenges this week. Aklnwlf, has a knee that is acting up still, LPKayak has furnace problems and KAM is going through a hard spell.

Aklnwlf, my right knee is painful too. I am sure it is tendonitis. By the end of the day, I certainly dread the stairs.

Hope this week is a better one for everybody!

Best,
Karen

We finally got some much needed rain here today.

I was doing well enough to at least take Rosie out to toilet in the rain.

So, thankful for that. We went via power chair and only across the street.

Hoping by the end of the week I will be recovered enough to be on my feet again.

Monday-Me and Rocky 2 1/2 miles and work-out videos for me.

Tuesday-Those videos and no walking so far, it's raining a little here.

2 1/2 miles was a bit much for me cause of the knee and am still having to vary my work-outs.

See you all later!

Good to hear from you Alaska Lone Wolf.

STrong enough to drive power chair to front entrance and then walk to car.

Drove to easement road in forest so Rosie could run along side of car to get her exercise.

Good to be out. Saw few trees and branches that had been either uprooted or blown off. Heard we had quite a storm last night.

Hail and snow on the ground this am.

its really hard for me in the mts cuz there is no place flat to walk and it all hurts my knees so much-and I NEED TO WALK!!!!!

anyway-i'm back down south where the computer works.

i haven't gone for any long walks but have been moving so much stuff around i am still losing a little weight.

we're supposed to get the first real snow storm tomorrow-hope everyone west of me did ok as it blew thru.

We got it!! It is almost a white out right now, it is coming down so hard. It is supposed to last all day and night where I am and then finish with freezing rain. I hate when it does that! Makes everything a mess.

I walked to the mail this morning. I have also been taking the dogs out to walk the fence line and get some snow time. Now I am ready for a nap.

KAM, glad you are back on your feet!

LP, glad to hear you are back. I hear you about the hills. It was one of the things I liked about Arizona. Our neighborhood was completely flat. Great for walking.

Aklnwlf, glad the knee is not acting up too much.

Best,
Karen

Wow. Sounds like you are getting a lot of snow. Walking the fence line sounds great for the dogs.

Can't wait until until I can go for a walk in the forest in the snow with Rosie.

I almost missed it last year due to timing and health.

But, got lucky and was able to walk in the snow towards the end of the season.

i guess i'm 100 or more miles south of kgg (rochester nh) and we got a good 9 inches of wet snow before it turned to sleet and finally rain

i walked a few times but not long or far-it was icy and when i fall i can't get up...

o shoveled a little too and get this...i cleaned off the car-it was hard-my kayak racks make it hard...and why did i have to clean off the car???? because my lyme brain made me forget to put it n the garage...its like the kitchen cabinets...if the doors are closed i don't know where any thing is...i needshelves instead. the garage door was closed...so i parked in front of it and waited for the storm to cover it up...grrrr...i hate this stupid disease sometimes.

tonight it is pouring rain-i went to a concert and it was full and NOONE was coughing! i was so scared i would catch something...but no one was sick. so that was kinda fun.

i a riding a new horse tomorrow. shes big. 17 hand belgian draft mare. supposed to be really quiet. hope so.

wheres lymetoo?

I wish I was that far south, LP! I am 230 miles from the NH border. Never in my wildest dreams did I think I would live this far north, but we love it!

Don't ya hate it when the ole brain cells just are not firing right? Like when I look for the milk in the broom closet and the broom in the refrigerator?!

Hope that your horseback ride was fun.

Yup. The dogs are loving the snow. They chase snow balls and dig in it for lost treasures only they can smell. Miss Pris always has to have an ice ball in her mouth. There is a pile of them where she reluctantly drops them at the front door.

I walked the dogs three times today. Plus went to the mail. And shoveled off the back deck. Hope I don't hurt too much tomorrow.

Where O where is Lymetoo??!!

Hoping we hear from Lymetoo soon. I don't recall her mentioning she was traveling.

enjoyed hearing about the dogs. Glad you were able to get out 3 times.

enjoyed reading your post too kayak. I had forgotten about the closed door thing until you mentioned it.

When I first came down sick I was getting ready to purchase the home I was renting at the time.

I recall thinking that once I got well and the home was mine, I would put glass doors on the cabinets.

Which is a oxymoron as once I was well, I most likely wouldn't have needed glass doors.

I was able to walk to the outgoing mail box today and from the community room to my apartment.

I also walked into the dog park....but kept that visit very short as I was cold and weak.

The chairs I use to be able to slouch in are no longer there.

Which makes sitting at the dog park a bit of a problem now.

I have it in the back of my mind to purchase a chair to have there for me...but that takes more doing than I can do right now.

The chairs that are there are from people who have purchased them and brought them in.

Those plastic chairs that don't last long. But, that is OK.

Karen and Kayak...hoping you both don't hurt too much tomorrow.

Wednesday-2 1/2 miles for me and Rocky. No workout videos.

Thursday-1 mile and workout videos.

Glad to hear about everyone getting out and about.

Cold down here in Alabama. 40's during the day and low 30 at night.

Had to turn on the heat lamp in my pump house tonight so it doesn't freeze.

See you all later!

Feel better soon, Lymetoo!

My arms are not sore today but my hip is sore from running with the dogs the other day. It was probably the running but I also fell with both of them on leash. They did not seem to care that I was lying on my back in the snow. Just waited for me to get up again.

I have calcium deposits on both hips, both knees and both deltoids. Any time I run I either hurt my hips or a knee. No more running for me!

It is really cold today. 20 with a 9 MPH wind. Not sure what wind chill that creates but it was cold! Went to the mail by myself but took the dogs out briefly.

Aklnwlf, 40 is considered balmy up here in the winter! That is when I open the windows and get some fresh air.

Take care everyone!
Karen

hope you feel better soon, lymetoo.

i never got on the horse yesterday. she was awful-wouldn't stand to let me mount. and screaming for her friend in the barn. and afraid of the jump standards cuz tey look different cuz someonemoved them. i don't have a good feeling about her.

after i didn't ride i stayed to watch th next lesson. it was with pie-the horse i had leased that turned into a bucking bronco. they have told me for 6 weeks she has been fine. well she wasn't yesterday...still a bucking bronco-still biting and and lethargic...i really believe she has tick borne inection of some kind-but the vet and owner said"lyme is overdiagnosed in horses and her test was neg..."

i decided to fill out paper for therapeutic riding. that way there will be 2-3 ppl to help me mount. i'm usually ok once mounted as long as horse doesn't shy or buck. if it warms up a little i can still ride jewel, the QH mare who is outside...

the therapeutic riding paperwork will take a few weeks cuz it has to go to my doc. doc loves for me to ride cuz i have been losing weight. but i am not sure what horse they will put me on-even if i am on a lunge...the horse can stll buck or spook.

the instructor rides higher level dressage than me tho...so that is a real positive.

a bunch of other bad things happened yesterday to...but i'm not gonna dwell on them.

today kris and i bundled up(first time i put two coats on him)and went to the beach to walk where there is no ice. it was windy and cold but we were good for 50 min.

now its time to hunker down again and try to get warm-my muscles and skin are herxing-feels like flu-from putting up the buhner tea. glad its doing something

take care all..keep warm!!!

Karen...ouch. hope you recover soon. And Burr! Cold enough at that temp without the wind chill factor.

kayak...you take care and keep warm too. Great you were able to walk along the beach.

Hoping you get a horse that is more of a lady or gentlemen.

kam and karen, are you doing better??

AK.. I guess winters in AL are much better than winters in AK?? [Big Grin]

It was 9 here the other night.. high of 20 .. now warming up tomorrow to the 40's. Glad I haven't had to go out!!

(ps.. I'm not in TX!)

and NO, I did not exercise today.. unless you call washing clothes and dishes "exercise"! [lol]

(on second thought... that WAS exercise!!!)

I agree TuTu...moving the body however we can counts in my book.

We might get snow and rain tomorrow. Had a bit of rain this am but nothing like the other day.

Able to walk in and out of the dog park for two short visits this morning.

Able to walk into Walgreens and pick up my pictures...wanted to get a box of Christmas cards to but not able to be on my feet long enough to find them.

Able to be on my feet long enough to get gas this morning too.

Wanted to go for a walk in the great outdoors with Rosie but not quite up to that yet.

Maybe I will be able to during the evening outing.

My exercise consisted of walking while shopping in the big city today. And it really wasn't Christmas shopping as it was just stuff we needed.

Boy were there a lot of jerks behind the wheels today! Glad I wasn't driving, I would have had my Lyme rage bazooka out. As it was I turned the air blue a couple of times. [cussing] [Eek!]

My hip is better but not totally pain free. I have been taking Epsom Salt baths at night to help with the stiffness. Not sure where I would be without a tub. Probably taking pain medicine, I guess.

KAM, I am trying to motivate to do Christmas cards. So far it has not happened. It takes brain power for me to sit down and write. Once it is done, I usually wonder what the big deal was, but until then it seems like a big chore.

Gee, Lymetoo, your temps are like ours except we haven't gone back up to the 40's. That would be nice!

Best,
Karen

i had big plans to walk on the beach today but it didn't happen. too sore from yesterday. i did drive to the beach and drove around the parking lot with the leash out the window so kris could get his exercise. hes gettng more and more stiff in the back end but he still wants to go and can go way more than me.

i was bummed i couldn't walk-but kept saying to myself...dr b says exercise every other day...

tomorrow i hope it really warms up to 40 and melts the ice. i am going to try to tide the quiet horse-her namw is jewel...if enough ice melts.

its still cold here...talk soon.

Lyme Too..take a look on facebook. I posted some of the photos.

Able to walk into the dog park and out today. made it short visit. But, Rosie was a happy camper.

Found a chair I could slouch in that seems to work better than the others while I put my feet up.

Ah HA! Elk siting. Finally able to see Elk at golf course this am.

Bull Elk with his harem (?)

Wasn't even planning on going to the golf course this am to check for them as I had pretty much given up seeing them.

But, the car had a mind of its own this morning.

After a few wrong turns, finally ended up at the dog park. Rosie was a happy camper.

Short stay but good to be there.

Stopped at yard sale on the way home. They had a chair lift for stairs for sale.

Thought of you Karen. But, she said it went really slow.

$4,000 new. They were selling it for $2,000. Looked new. Everything in their home looked new that they were selling. Moving sell.

Lots of that going on around here. Not sure why.

This is a Bull Elk Bugling ...pre harem stage. I understand that they will fight almost to death if not to death at times to be the dominant male.

Happy 41st Birthday Kayak. Hoping you are able to get out and do something fun.

Sun evening: able to drive to dog park and walk in and out. Short visit. Had the place to ourselves which was good.

Rosie didn't get enough exercise though and started getting into things a bit when we got back.

Hoping to let her kick up her heels today.
