So, my now 3 year old (birthday today) woke up this morning with a 102 fever, and his face and ear on the one side were bright red.
Took him to the doctor and put him through the strep test (negative).
Ears were fine, sinuses fine, so he got the usual "we can't figure it out" dx of a URI.
Got a rx for Zith, and I had the foresight to have the pharmacist flavor it differently since he always hates it.
Guess what, he hates it even worse with grape flavor.
He got a couple swallows of rx-laced soda down before gagging and crying.
I just don't know what to do other than never let the doc give him Zith again.
Argh! And we're trying to get packed up to go to either Myrtle Beach or Florida this week (yeh, hubby is checking the forecast every day and keeps changing his mind--if we don't soon get a hotel reserved, we won't be going anywhere)

OH my. So sorry to hear this!!! Poor baby! I hope he feels better very soon and that you make it to your destination....whatever that turns out to be!!
We're praying we'll be able to leave on Christmas Day to Texas, but we're supposed to have rain, then freezing temps, then snow on Christmas Eve. Oh joy. Packing the car should be a great deal of fun!!
I think you'd better skip Myrtle Beach...don't they have snow?

I'm so sorry your son is sick. Especially on his birthday.
My daughter would eat dirt and love it but flavored liquid medicine...forget it!! I would be covered in it and she would be screaming. I delegated that job to my husband who had much more patience than me.

He's an altogether different boy today.
Still not eating much, but he's running around, playing, and bothering his brother. Praise God for that. Well, maybe not for the bothering his brother.
