Christmas week. Wow! I have to decorate the tree still. Thankfully, it is a short, fat one just like me! =) If my MIL wasn't with us, I would not decorate one at all. No not being a Scrooge, but my house is full of construction. But her apartment is organized so I will set the tree up there.

Yesterday was a nap day for me. I took the dogs once around the fence. Not sure I accomplished much more than that. Oh yes... I got the top of my kitchen table cleared off of an incredible amount of clutter. But that really isn't exercise but it sure looked nice!

It is nice to be able to see the tops of furniture instead of clutter.

And it is using the brain and the body to do so.

It is Christmas week. Wow. That snuck (is that a word?) up on me.

No tree or decorations here. Health just isn't up to it.

Less than 2 weeks and it will be 2010. We are all slowly improving.

Thanks, KAM! You make me feel better.

I did two laps around the fence with the dogs and once up to the mail. The walk was measured by a four wheeler to be 1/10th of a mile. So I did 2/1oths in the snow. I will have to measure up to the mail box.

All I know is I am tired. But I think it is the cold not the exercise.

Monday-Me and Rocky 3 miles and those workout videos.

KGG-Hey, cleaning counts as exercise! I passed on the Christmas tree this year and have 2 pointsettas instead. One on the diningroom table and one on the coffee table. Tada! Decorating done! [Wink]

Kam-2010! I can't believe it. Where did the year go!

See you all later on in the week!

i bought a balsam wreath and hung my favorite angel on it and put in the middle of the apt real close to my chair so i smell it all the time...best $2.50 i have spent in a long time.

i understand about clearing off table tops...and counter tops and chairs and beds and couches...i hate how cluttery i am...but i am sure it is a sx...an indication of how many bugs are in my brain. i get sooooo happy when i clear off just one spot...i wish i could keep it that way so much.

well-for once it wasn't me who couldn't walk...it was kris. we went one house down the road and the salt hurt his paws so much he really couldn't walk. i had to carry him back...it was hard...and wash off his feet. i took him out a few more times in the yard where it is just snow...but it wasn't a long walk like he wants and like i need.

i will try to find the booties tomorrow.

i'm so sleep y from the herbs and i have bill/tax papers and hundreds (i think-seems that way) of cds to sort and put away . (i was looking for christmas music)

so thats what i will be doing til i crash i guess. at least the insomnia is gone when i take the herbs.

take care all.

Walked to car twice today.

Walked the short distance to the Eagle's Nest so Rosie could have some off leash time...friend drove which helped.

She also seemed to understand that my brain was not able to process so listening was out.

Somehow, someone had put an orange traffic cone on top of one of the boulders.

From the front it looks like you would need to climb straight up a smooth rock wall with ropes.

Wasn't able to see what the back of the boulder looked like as far as how they go the cone on top of the boulder.

melissa...glad you were able to pick up the things on layaway. [Smile]

kayak..the wreath and tree sound like a great idea

ALW...so does the poinsettias.

Hiker...we have snow here too. I considered helping management out with shoveling snow but since it took all I had to get from the car to the power chair inside the door changed my mind.

But, to answer your question..yes..shoveling snow is a great work out.

I walked the perimeter....kind of...of the dog park this evening.

WE had it to ourselves which was nice.

Drove out to Flowing Springs as we started to have snow here and then it stopped.

So, I thought if I went out there I would find snow.

No snow and no place to park without getting stuck in the mud.

So came back to dog park. I have to re think walking with my white Ugg slippers on in the snow.

Hey gang! I did my usual mile at cardiac rehab.. hadn't been there in two weeks!

May not go tomorrow. Gotta get my car worked on again and I'm afraid of stirring up the sciatic nerve again since we'll be traveling Christmas Day, weather permitting!!!!!

I hope everyone here has a wonderful Christmas!!! I just hope we can get home!!!!!

Yes Hiker, shoveling definitely counts! And I will be doing that as soon as I get dressed for the day.

Yesterday, I went twice around the fence area with the dogs. And I finally got the Christmas tree done. We already lost one ornament to a happy tail. Thankfully, it wasn't a favorite.

Merry, I hope that those back spasms stop soon! I take Magnesium for my muscle stuff. Do you?

KAM, the places you go to have such wonderful names! They just invite exploring.

Lymetoo, good decision on trying to keep the sciatica quiet. Safe travels on Christmas day!

LP, your Christmas decoration sounds pretty. Agree that I have to find the dog boots too. I also need to order some larger ones for Brewster. He won't fit Miss Pris' pair. She always looks so funny high steeping when I first put them on.

Have a good day everyone~

Woke up grouchy. Glad I was able to get up, take a shower, drive to a trail head and walk in the snow.

What a great Christmas gift.

I went on my favorite trail. Was concerned about running into the guy who lives in the camper and his dog.

But, brain had this idea to turn back as soon as I saw the camper. Which worked out well.

The guy and his dog are OK. It is just the movement of the two dogs playing and the noise and having another person there that is too much.

I use to rest half way where the guy is camped.

So, turning back before i got there worked out well too.

No place to stop and rest now.

Est walk was under 10 min.

good job Kam.

woke up sore as hell this am. did not want to do anything. I ended up finding my dad a puppy! We went to go pick it out and then hit the petstore where i walked for a long time. then we stopped at the vet to make sure pup was ok. I am pooped out now. kinda glad the puppy is my dad's and not mine as they have so much energy.

The pup will be here a lot but its nice to be able to send him back upstairs at least right now.

havent introduced him to my dogs yet. slightly worried what my bulldog is gonna think and how she will act. but things have a way of working out in the end. as long as she doesnt eat the puppy.

hope everyone has a great christmas.

Drove out to what I call the Healing Ranch this evening. I have no idea how long i was on my feet.

It is 6:00 pm I think now and I think I left at 3:30 or 4:00.

Not sure how long it takes me to get out there.

But, on my feet much longer than I usually am able to be. Only second time I have walked across the ranch like that.

Several rest stops. Saw Elk on the way back while in the car at dusk.

Most likely will be hurting and down for a couple of days but it was worth it.

I love it out there.

Man, oh man, am I busy!!! [dizzy]

Tuesday-1 mile with weights and Rocky, then those videos.

Wednesday-3 miles no weights with Rocky and then those videos.

I've been cooking since Wednesday. Cookies, muffins, coffee cake, dinner, potato salad, deviled eggs, camabert/asparagus bread pudding and there's still tomorrow!

I'm cooking at my house and going to my brother's and then company in the evening.

Whew!

Gonna try to squeeze in those videos after I get the prime rib in the oven in the a.m.

Wish me luck gang! Couldn't manage today cause I had company.

I hope everyone has a wonderful Christmas!

Love you guys! [kiss]

I won't be doing much of anything today... will go back to bed shortly since we're NOT traveling to Texas today.

It's rather icy/snowy here and no way I'm traveling up and down icy hills.

So.... we'll be here ..just the two of us... eating chili....sigh....

Merry Christmas, everyone! [hi]

Aklnwlf, your food sounds delicious! I will be over shortly. [Wink]

AKW...I'll be over shortly too!

Tutu...glad you are safe at home.

Merrygirl...what kind of puppy did you get?

20 degrees out this am...at least that is what it said on the outdoor thermometer.

Didn't have what it took to scrap the ice off of the car windows or be on my feet.

So, got in the power chair this am and took Rosie out to toilet.

Thankfully, I had my long johns on, my sweat pants, etc, fleece, down coat, warm gloves, ear muffs and sunglasses.

And ugg slippers.

Kind of feeling blue this am and thinking things are not going to get better and I am so useless with this condition both financially, physically, being able to just listen to others.

When I got home, I remembered the mail person had left the neighbors aviator magazine in my mail box instead.

So, put it outside his door along with a small box that said love on it and some candy inside.

Don't know my neighbor. But, it was fun doing that. Needed to do something. Left it incognito.

KAM, I am sorry it was a hard day for you. Holidays can have that effect on people. That is one reason why they are not my favorite time of the year (as the song goes...).

I like Thanksgiving. Mainly because it is a good thing for every one to remember- be thankful. But the rest I could definitely do without.

Our day was a quiet one. Without drama of any kind which is how I like it.

Glad things were smooth sailing for you yesterday Karen.

Able to drive to dog park this am and walk in and out.

Didn't stay long. Had the place to myself and it was very cold out.

Sat on a chair with ice. But, is still defrosting. [Smile]

Sitting here on the couch in my new red robe and black slippers (from Mom) and have no intention of getting up! [lol]

Friday, Christmas Day-Yes, those videos.

Then baked the camabert/asparagus bread pudding, prime rib roast was next, carrots, instant Idahoan garlic mashed potatoes, yeast rolls, au jus and horseradish cream.

Then hauled butt with potato salad, deviled eggs and presents to my brother's and his family.

Ate a ham dinner there.

Later at my house, ate again with the hubs, stepdaughter, Mom and my nephew.

......sitting here looking just like Santa......

TuTu-I love chili!!! I put crackers, cheese, onion and tons of tabasco on mine. My husband just looks at me and shakes his head. One Christmas, going through treatment, I was so sick, I didn't cook or eat. My sister said I just came over and layed on the couch. I don't even remember not eating. Course I'm making up for it now! [Big Grin]

Karen-You're welcome anytime. In fact if I could I'd cook for the whole gang here! I love to cook....and it shows! [lick]

Kam-I'm extending that invite to you too! [kiss] I'm green with envy over those Ugg's! I used to have a pair of Ugg shoes that have the fluffy lining. They were so comfy and I wore them to death! Also that was so very nice of you to leave a gift for your neighbor. You're a sweetie!

Anyways all, I'll check in later!

[group hug]

Walked on the asphalt trail for 10 min this evening. Snow still on the ground out that way.

Also walked into dog park but since Rosie wasn't getting her exercise there decided to head down the road a bit more.

Thankful I was able to be on my feet for a bit.

Ugg's are very good for those of us with cold feet and weak arms/bodies.

I have some white slippers that are no longer white. HA! As I wear them outdoors too when I am not strong enough to put my hiking boots on...which is often.

kayak...looking forward to hearing that you were able to go for a ride.

AKW..yumm

Able to drive 15 min out of town on the 30 mph road.

Est 10 or 15 min on feet with rest on boulder half way.

Went to first creek crossing. It was frozen over. People had thrown large rocks on the creek and they did not go through the ice.

Pretty cool to see a frozen creek with patches of snow here and there.

The beach area where Rosie likes to do her Happy Dance and kick up dirt was also hard or frozen.

She was not able to kick up the dirt but still did her happy dance. She likes that area.

NOTE: I would not have been able to do what I did this morning if I had not taken a couple of excedrin an hour before.

not sure why it helps but it does.
