how do i get rid of it? i can't run mcafee, i keep getting tons of these popups and i can't crash the system, can't go into operating system, can't do a damn thing.

it's totally locked the freakin up except for this. and i'm getting a popup every couple ofs econds so this is taking forever to post.

Frustrating I bet! I wouldn't bother dealing with Microsoft. The above instructions should do the trick. Hope this helps!!

PS. Here's a tip if you can't visit the link. Upon starting up your computer, hit F8 right away (it's ok to hit it repeatedly) and choose safe mode with networking. Then try.

I got one that said Internet Security 2010.

What a pain!

The bleeping computer website helped.

I had to run seeral antispyware and anti malware programs to remove it. It included about 12 trojans.

Hi Randi

You should be able to turn the computer off manually (ie, pushing the power button). When you turn your computer back on, tap the f8 key constantly (I don't actually know if you have to tap it constantly, but that is what I do)

That should send you to a screen where you can choose to start in "Safe Mode". Safe Mode partitions your computer, and might keep the virus from interfering with what you do. If you choose safe mode with networking, you can still access the internet (but it isn't as safe as safe mode without networking)

From there you might be able to run your virus scanner and fix the problem

i've tried everything. even the f8 thing. it comes up with a screen that says my security on the computer won't access those links.

everytime i try something i get a ton of blockkups and security block saying you don't have access.

i am sooo sick of trying to contact microsoft or macafee. i keep foreigners who don't speak english and then i wait 20 minutes or more and nobody comes on the line and then i either hang up on them or they slam the phone down on me.

i can't access any web links or anything. macafee is completely shut down.

Hi [Smile]

Do you have anymore info than it's a security tool virus? Do you have a name that goes with that?

Anyhow, try this program, that is if you can get to it.
http://www.snapfiles.com/reviews/Ad-Aware/adaware.html

Run that and post back here if you still have problems.

And....

One more tool.

http://vil.nai.com/vil/stinger/

Read the directions for this one, printing them would be better if you can get that part to even work. [Smile]

thanks ya'll, but i can't print, can't access any web sites except this and maybe one other.

can't open my damn mail.

i can read one or two sites through the f8 but otherwise get a "can't open due to security settings".

the bloody thing is totally locked up.

i'm on my husband's computer and if anything happens to it, HE WILL KILL me!!!!

so no shopping, reading, or printing for me. i mean, i am totally locke up.

i feel like calling computer geek and having them come to the house but mike says call at night real late and talk to microsoft but they won't help me!!! and he doesn't want to do it, so i'm SOL....

Well if you can get into safe mode?
Go to safe mode than see if you can run your anti virus program. If you can't? Use hubby's pc and dowload those programs I posted, than burn them to a cd and use the cd to put or run those programs on your pc.

Ok, do you know how to put those program links I posted on a CD? If you do, use the Hubby pc, go to the links and download them to Hubby PC then take those programs and burn them onto a cd, then put the cd in your pc and paste the programs onto your desktop and then run them.

If this is all too much for you? I say you are right call the PC Geek and get it done. Microsoft or any online help is NOT the way to go here. [Smile]
