Had my visit with the dr about my knees and he said replacement was a must. However, I have lost a lot of muscle in my thighs and part of the replacement procedure involves the lower part of the thigh.
To that end he gave me a shot of liquid indocin (anti inflammatory) and steroids. At least now I can walk better with crutches or walker. I am on the list for the first operation (right knee) but it won't happen for about 2-3 months.
I have an appointment again in six weeks (last week of Feb) to check thigh strength so I have to force myself to walk as much as possible to get those muscles ready for rehab after the surgery.
I will be talking with the VA about disability this upcoming week.

Jus' Silverwolfi,TxC's wife here!!!
I put up a thread on Medical, asking about how to do detox after these steroid injections.
TxC' is actually being able to walk,w/ a walker instead of being in a wheelchair!!!
We do have concerns about the steroid negative effects tho'[so far it has been minor].
I am relieved to see him out of the wheelchair!!!
