I was venturing again. Posts from 2005 and 2006.
To me, posts back then were less and treatment
seemed less dramatic than they are today. They were detailed and not alot of the same topics repeated.
Are more people getting sick from lyme and co.?
Or are people just finding out about this sight?
It seems like a massive epidemic in the last several years. Very concerning.

Hope I'm not repeating... maybe I should have put this post under "I hardly ever go to medical anymore."

it's not just you're observation. I feel the same. I think since people are more into "blogging" we're getting more stuff like that in medical.
Lot's of converstions that should be here in General.
The moderators are overwhelmed. I'd say almost half the posts in medical are "general" catagories.

hmm. i just think most people are doing the search mode alot.
i'm trying now to search and find other's responses rather than reposting something somebody else has done.
saves time and saves posting the same ole crap over and over.
and a lot of people are being diagnosed. after all, lyme is now the fastest growing epidemic in the u.s.
but yeah, there's a lot i would put in general.
but the poor moderators can't catch them all. they'd be at it 24/7.

I posted a topic this am in medical, guess what... it's already on the bottom of the page unanswered.
Medical moves so quickly, people don't have time to read them and they get burried.
If I took time off from the board, I would not know were to begin when I came back.
I do feel sorry for the moderators having to keep up on the fast pased medical board.

Well BettyG used to be really good about moving unanswered posts to the top but I don't think many people take the time to do that anymore.
Larger numbers of people seem to register with this site every year -- but of course it is hard to know exactly how many since there are so many spammers etc that must be removed.
Actually the treatments have become more complex because most LLMD's now realize that Lyme is not just Lyme only -- the coinfections get much more attention and that complicates treatment greatly. And I think if Dr F ever publishes anything and when the Galaxy Lab gets going the number of patients and posts will explode exponentially.
Despite the IDSA there is much more being published about tickborne infections and docs are finally publishing books and protocols. The general public is still pretty oblivious though. Otherwise there would not be so many people going years undiagnosed.
When hubby was going from doc to doc trying to get diagnosed and we were traveling all over the country back in 2002 - 2004 if I went into a health food store and asked the clerk anything they always asked if he could have Gulf War Syndrome. Of course at the time I had never heard of mycoplasma and knew next to nothing about Lyme and tickborne diseases.
Now if I mention Lyme most people know it comes from a tick but unless a family memeber or friend has it that is about the extent of their knowledge.
