Hello everyone - My name is Mike, I'm in my late 30's and reside in the state of New York.

I'll start with my question first, then I'll provide some details for those more adventurous to read on : )

I have learned about a homoeopathic remedy for lyme. Has anyone tried this and has it helped with your lyme symptoms? Any side effects?

Since 2003 I've been dealing with symptoms of lyme, mainly physcological and neurological. I do not have any pain or swelling in my joints. Like most lymies, I've been to numerous docs all without any real help.

In 2007 I started seeing a Naturopathic doc in New York. I wish I had gone to this person years ago. This doc was able to help me get rid of some of my symptoms and greatly reduce others.

In 2009, I decided to see a llmd in New York. Dr. B tested me for lyme, but as in the past, it came back negative. Based on his clinical findings he told me I have lyme and started treatment that very day.

Long story short, I had a sever reaction to the injections they gave me. I thought I was going to die that day. They were ready to give me a shot of adrenaline, but luckily the smelling salts helped to bring me back.

I continued to see this doc for a couple of months, taking oral antibiotics. Needless to say I did not have a favorable experience with this llmd. Couple that with the fact I could no longer afford them, I stopped seeing the llmd.

So that's the real condensed version of my medical odyssey.

I thank you in advance for your input.

Mike

Ledum is the only a homoeopathic remedy for lyme that I'm aware of but that is more for like when one has just been bitten out in the woods. Ledum has been used in other ways, too, to lessen symptoms even long after the bite.

Is that what you are considering? Or something else?

There are also many other homeopathics for symptom relief that I've found to be good but none that actually adequately addresses the lyme spirochete infection in all forms and stages. - all by itself.

Do you have the link for this site?

Far different than homeopathics, many here have used some very specific herbal formulas that help.

Actually the people I talked to referred to it only as a homeopathic remedy, not sure it it was Ledum.

Anyways I did a little research on ledum today and it seems like something worth trying. Another remedy I can across was an actual live portion of the lyme spirochete. That one scares me!

Keebler - you asked for a link, but I'm unsure of what site your are referring to.

Be careful with ledum. Homeopathy is an art. It takes years of training and for something like this, it's best to see someone with that specific training. If a one time use in emergency or for basic symptom relief, some homepathics are fine to try on our own. But others really require more study. Ledum is one of those when using for chronic lyme.

You said you don't know what I meant when asking for a link. I meant to however you learned about this when you said: " . . .I have learned about a homoeopathic remedy for lyme. . . ."

How did you learn of it, from a website, a book, or was it a doctor's appointment or someone else's experience?

You asked "Has anyone tried this" but until we know the "this" we'd not know the "this" is. That's why I wondered if you had a link so we could see to what specific homeopathic remedy you were referring.

Some NDs have training in homeopathy, but be sure if you are treated with these that the ND does have substantial course work behind them. In addition, it would be best if they are ILADS-educated about lyme disease so they have the science background of the spirochete and understand all the levels of lyme disease.

Hi Mike, after five years of taking abx, and getting worse each year, I finally decided that it was time to try something else. Long story short, I found a doctor who treats with homeopathic medicines along with herbal/botanical and supplements as well.

He has a clinic in KS where he offers treatments and therapies for lyme and other chronic diseases. He wrote a book titled, "Beating Lyme Disease" which you can learn more about here
http://www.hansacenter.com/beating_lyme_disease.php

I could not handle abx as they practically ruined my stomach. The side effects were too hard on me as well. Last December I was so sick that I was making plans for my funeral. Then in January someone told me about the Jernigan protocol which I had never heard of before.

After doing some research, and asking people who were on this protocol questions about it, I finally decided to try it myself. Rather than explain it all here you can go to the thread I started called "Hansa Center Update"
http://flash.lymenet.org/scripts/ultimatebb.cgi/topic/1/89968?

Look it over and if you have any questions feel free to post them here or send me a pm and I'll be glad to answer any questions you have.

Gary
