Rehearsed at church for tomorrow and ate out with hubs... went to Kohl's ( [Big Grin] ) and then came home and took a nap.... How's that for a good day!?

Now I'm "chatting" with my good friend, Melanie!

When I was in kindergarten, I was part of a Maypole celebration at school. Now THAT'S OLD! [lol] We had costumes and everything!

Click on this link and scroll down to see a Maypole dance.

http://www.squidoo.com/maypole-dance

I remember about 30 kids doing this at once...not 5-6 as in this one. But that was a L-O-N-G time ago and my memory isn't all that great!! [Big Grin]

What did you do today Ms Melanie?

Today was a bit better for me than it has been for a week or so.

Able to take the bedroom and front room drapes down and the shower curtain.

Able to pick up 4 small boxes to pack some more.

And able to do the 10 min loop in the forest and enjoy it this time.

Also cruised around the block in the power chair for Rosie's evening toileting. Icy out.

Hoping to sleep through the night for the first time in a long time tonight. We shall see.

I take glycine, gabapentin and generic restoril but it has not been working lately.

Not sure what time I fell asleep last night (some time after 10 pm) but at least I did not wake up until 3 am this morning this time.

Miss Katherine! Wow... you had a very busy day today. I am really impressed with all you managed to accomplish! Wish I could come over and help with the packing... I'm a bit of an expert at it by now. [Smile]

Sleep was crazy for me too last night- bad dreams for some reason. But the long hours at work today took my mind off of things. I got to draw and color and measure and photograph and meet with clients all day... so it was fun as usual until I got snowed on!

Kisses to Rosie!

took the boys to there bowling league and attended my sons soccer game this afternoon.

I remember when I was a kid... we would place May flowers on peoples door step in the neighborhood.

I think it was a northern thing, because Ga. people look at me like I have two heads when I mention it.

spent most of the day recovering from the energy draining experience of keeping up with a 2 year old grandson at a ball game and a zoo outting,,the last couple days.

Then he helped grandpa fix dads car. We put in new blinker bulbs in the front and a window regulator in a back window to keep him warm.

At the zoo the weather zoomed up to 86 degrees,,too hot too soon for me. His little legs put on twice as many miles as mine,,he was always running someplace to check something else out.

His new baby brother will be here in about 3 weeks.

I went to Mennards tho today and got my special order stuff to make my new porch railings out of. Now have to jack it up a fraction of an inch to get old banisters out.

Watched the Kentucky Derby and then went and pulled nails for a few hours

You keep the snow,,ours finally all went by way of sunshine,,,finally. BUT I have heard stories of 6 inches as late as May 28th,,,but that was a rare occurrence.

Happy May Day to you!!!

Diane,

I forgot about putting flowers on people's doors.

Mel..work sounds very good. WE got snow here too yesterday...very confusing.

MADDOG..what would you do in Wyoming? sounds like a great place for a dog to roam and explore..lot of wide open places.

Don..wow 86 degrees and a toddler. but, sounds like fun.

Hey Don, I remember a Colorado snow shower on the 4th of July! I bet you are SO happy to have the sun back... although I must admit, 86 is pretty extreme! Glad you had a fun day with that little one. Miss you!

Bowling and soccer sound fun too MDW. I seem to remember something about giving Poppies this time of year too. Was that part of a May 1st tradition? Hmmm...

Maddog! Wyoming? It IS a magical place, but what is the draw for you to move there? I thought you would be burying bones in OH forever. [Smile]

Yes... I have settled back in Colorado after 5 years away. I'm actually very close to the same neighborhood that I used to live in even, so things feel very familiar once more.

It is wonderful to hear from you as well and I do hope you are doing great!

Mel..somehow it is comforting knowing you are back in your old stomping grounds.

I wish you were here to help pack and unpack too. I keep thinking I have down sized as much as I can but then find more.

Down to the clutter now...that part of the move is the most difficult for me.

But, I think my next move will just about be down to no clutter and just eh basics. Well, I can think that can't I. [Smile]

Me thinks Maddog meant he wants to VISIT Wyoming.

Bet his roots are firmly planted in O-HI-O

Just hope he stops and picks me up,,,I am good 'bear' bait@!!!!

Cant believe beautiful downtown Arizona can get snow or ice so late into spring.

Last nite I argued with myself till almost 11 what I wanted to eat. Starving to death cause dont have ANY food in the house.(donkies NOW fly) Then me,myself and I agreed to eat old dead chick breast and peas

But I still have marshmallows and chocolate

We used to do May day baskets in country grade school,,,back when one room(for all grades) schools were a plenty. Just a few cheap candies.

Had a thought just now. Perhaps we could start a tradition with the lyme community and send some flowers to someone on May 1st.

Someone who does a lot for the lyme community. A thank you kind of thing for Lyme Awareness since May is lyme awareness month.

Spent the morning trying to get back to my house to check on critters and staying dry!

Whew the flooding!!!! Never saw this before - been in Tn almost 30 years!

Now there is only 1 way in and out to get home - till the water goes down and if the roads/bridges are still there!

Rough weekend, but it was worse for others!

Lymetoo, I do remember the Maypole Dance!
