You all blessed me soooo much last week on "God Thought". Thank you for your prayers. It was quite a halleloooo ride and the laughs did me good, like medicine. [Big Grin] I am doing better. God really does answer prayer!!

So here we go again--another week.

The Lord says, "Call to Me and I will answer you and tell you great and unsearchable things you do not know." Jeremiah 33:3 (New International Version - NIV)

Huh? Sorry Daisy you lost me on "tell you great and unsearchable things you don't know"

I hope I'm not a big pain. This is way over my head...religon, maybe I don't belong in this thread.

Howdy MDW995/Diane, You are not a pain at all. You are a blessing.

EVERYONE belongs on this thread because God loves everyone! Everyone--includes you!!!

I'm going to answer your question about what it means, "tell you great and unsearchable things you don't know" with an example from yesterday.

Remember yesterday you posted on the previous "God Thought" and shared with us,

"Proverbs 27:17 NIV
As iron sharpens iron, so one man sharpens another.

I found a scripture Daisy!! I think it means...
my new friends here have sharpened my awareness/mind and we need friends to help each other grow.
And your "revelation" was right on!

Perhaps when you first read that verse yesterday, it seemed odd. Huh? "iron sharpens iron" that's a ridiculous picture. But then something happened. What happened? God "showed you a great and unsearchable thing you did not know."

The word "unsearchable" is not a word we use often. Below I added several other Bible translations of Jeremiah 33:3 so you can compare:

"Call to me and I will answer you, and will tell you great and hidden things that you have not known." (English Standard Version--ESV)

"Call to Me and I will answer you, and I will tell you great and mighty things, which you do not know." (New American Standard Bible--NASB)

Call to me, and I will answer you. I will tell you great and mysterious things that you do not know." (God's Word Translation)

"Call unto me, and I will answer thee, and shew thee great and mighty things, which thou knowest not." (King James Version--KJV)

"Let your cry come to me, and I will give you an answer, and let you see great things and secret things of which you had no knowledge." (Bible in Basic English)

One other thing, you just read the short version of my answer--I could write several books on your great question [Wink] [lol] [Big Grin]

Perhaps others will share from their experience. Anyone?

Blessed evening to all and to all a good night!

"The faithful love of the Lord never ends!
His mercies never cease.
Great is His faithfulness;
His mercies begin afresh each morning."

Lamentations 3:22-23 (New Living Translation--NLT)

WOW, what a great way to start the morning...fresh mercy!!! It's like starting every day with a brand new clean "sheet of paper". [bow] Thank You Lord!!

Dekrator, Thank you. I do enjoy talking about God's love letter (the Bible).

Whoa, to the person who asks me a question about God's Word. [Razz] You see, I just can't help myself. [Big Grin]

Seriously, it is such an honor FOR US to share the eternal Word of God with other Believers and also with searching souls.

Hey, Diane. You might be interested in a new translation of the Bible called The Message! I really want one to help me read through the Old Testament with more understanding of it.

I've read passages from it from the New Testament and it is literally "a trip" to read! It is in such common language that parts of it made me chuckle!

It's always good to read translations such as the NIV for true adherance to the original scripture, but something like The Message is a great way to start your understanding of the Bible.

Lymetoo, what a great suggestion! I really like the fresh modern perspective of "The Message".

The verses below kind of fit with the "taking care of the birds" from last week's "God Thought".

I love this translation from "The Message" (I spaced it out to be easier to read) Matthew 6:30-33,

"If God gives such attention to the appearance of wildflowers--most of which are never even seen--don't you think he'll attend to you, take pride in you, do his best for you?

What I'm trying to do here is to get you to relax, to not be so preoccupied with getting, so you can respond to God's giving. People who don't know God and the way he works fuss over these things, but you know both God and how he works.

Steep your life in God-reality, God-initiative, God-provisions.

Don't worry about missing out. You'll find all your everyday human concerns will be met."

I want to do what pleases the Lord in what I say, do, even what I think about. This verse is a real encouragement to me.

"For God is working in you, giving you the desire and the power to do what pleases him." Philippians 2:13 New Living Translation-NLT

WOW--God is so very good that He doesn't only give us the desire to do what pleases Him, then He gives us the power to do it!!!

I mean, who is like our God??? Piece a cake answer--ummm--no one!!

Have a blessed day doing what pleases the Lord in the power that He provides! [Big Grin]

part of 1Peter 2:24 "By His wounds you have been healed."

So, I am adopting the philosophy that God wants me well and has healed me. I am just waiting t see the effects.

17hens, "God Thought" is a great place to share prayer requests. You may remember last week I asked for prayer for myself (the first time ever). I am so thankful for all who prayed for me. God answered. It is amazing how well I am doing. God truly does answer prayer.

17hens, thank you for sharing about the "sick little lymie girl". Friends, let's lift this little girl to the throne of God and pray for His healing touch. Jesus IS the same yesterday, today and forever. He IS still the Great Physician.

Also, if you should be led, you could add a new post asking for people to pray for this child. I have seen others add special posts like that from time to time. Hey, the more people praying the better.

Again, I want to thank everyone who prayed for me. You are a blessing to me!!!!

Fear is so debilitating, isn't it. Like a straight jacket, you can't move. Even if you could move, you wouldn't know which way to go.

And hope is the opposite. Hope is direction and movement, trust, promise and joy.

When I was in the fear stage of this disease, I was absolutely miserable! Nothing was good, everything was bad and dark and miserable.

But when I allowed God to bring me to the hope stage, all I could do was sing!

Hope is everything.

Our God is the God of ALL Hope. I want to spread His Hope to the people He brings into my life.

This song has a powerful message. "By the Power of Your Name" by Lincoln Brewster.

This is the chorus of the song and Lord Jesus by Your grace I will:

"I will live to carry Your compassion,
to love a world that's broken,
to be Your hands and feet,
and I will give with the life that I've been given
and go beyond religion
by the power of your Name."

www.youtube.com/watch?v=Tg-5S3h1jFA

The opening six seconds of the song there are only two sounds--A piano playing and the other is a baby's heartbeat in the womb. The piano is played by the oldest person in Lincoln's family--his grandmother. And the baby's heartbeat is the youngest person in his family, his own child in the womb (he recorded the heart beat on one of their doctor visits). Lincoln had no idea he would ever incorporate his baby's heart beat into a song.

Lord, help us to live and love like you...spreading Your HOPE today!!

Daisy,

Beautiful song and video!

Must admit it was taxing on this lyme brain to listen and read at the same time.

Need a nap now [Smile]

Hens

PS. Think I'll watch it again and again. The first time turn down the volume and just read the pages and the second time turn the volume back up and close my eyes. That oughta do it!

PSS. Thank you, Daisy! FYI - This is my new favorite thread!

17hens, me too. It really is exciting to talk about the Lord and be encouraged by His people. Where does my strength come from? From God and His people. [bow]

Coming to "God Thought" I feel so loved and blessed!

I know what you mean about the song and that video together. Obviously that person doesn't have Lyme they are probably ADHD [Razz] It really is overload on the senses.

The song alone is powerful.

And the video alone is powerful.

I'm going to give that a try too, turn off the sound and just watch the video.

Maybe, just maybe, if you listen to the song again and again, (while doing something simple and not overload to the senses) you will get energized by the upbeat tune! Maybe some endorphin something or other will happen [Big Grin] or you could go take a nap. Naps are nice. [Smile]

Diane, Thanks for sharing that picture with us of your grandson. Oh, yeah, makes my day and night too! [Big Grin]

He is one blucky (that's the words blessed and lucky combined) little fellow to have the family he does. He can be everything God wants him to be with the supportive family he has!

There is such a special place in my heart for children. The Bible says that children are a gift from God. And they are! They are very precious. Well, all of us children are precious! [Smile]

You are not going to believe this, well, actually you will. About two hours ago, I was emailing with my uncle asking him if Grandpa (his dad) served in the military...this being Memorial Day Weekend and I really didn't know. (Grandpa has been with the Lord for many years.)

Anyway, I reminisced how the family would get together in the Adirondack Mountains and stay at a cabin on a lake. It is one of my favorite places with fond memories. Anyway, I reminded my uncle that Grandpa is the one that taught me to fish. I would sit on the dock and fish for hours. Long after everyone else had given up. I have a picture of me (about 7 years old) holding up the very first fish I ever caught. Grandpa took the picture.

I enjoyed God's creation in the mountains, the lake. It was so beautiful and peaceful. Wow, I sure am carrying on and on. Enough already.

Yes, I'm very blucky--Thank you!!!!! [woohoo]

Went looking for a christian book store today.

I love going to the Christian store in our city. I can stay there for hours "picking around" and looking at stuff.

Blessings all!!!
