I learned that this Father's Day was the 100th anniversary of its inception, in Spokane in 1910 by a woman named Sonora who wanted to honor her dad for raising their family of several kids as a single parent.
So Spokane had various festivities, including a tour of her home and inviting her granddaughter from Austria.
