- Doctor Oz is very limited in what he knows about lyme. VERY limited. And much of what he says is wrong, VERY wrong. He has some good points about the importance of prevention but he has no clue as to how to treat lyme or any other tick-borne infection.
About a year after that audio recording from a TV program with Oprah, he did a segment on his own show (a couple months ago).
He got it right that lyme can cause serious problems but he still missed the mark when he just told people to see their doctor if they have a concern. He should know that most doctors are clueless and that treatment is withheld, putting people at risk of a life-time of illness, or worse.
Here's a great place to learn about lyme and other tick-borne infections: --------------------------------
California Lyme Disease Association (CALDA) is a non-profit corporation acting as the central voice for all tick-borne disease issues. An excellent website for anyone in any state.
UNDER OUR SKIN - Documentary (DVD is just $35 and very enlightening) -

- Bottom line, rather than spend months learning about it, get to an ILADS-educated LLMD or LL ND (naturopathic doctor).
Then you can focus on learning what you need to know for excellent self-care and let the LL doctor deal with the treatment specifics. -
