Ok, my PCP ran another Lyme test for me on Friday and requested the Western Blot. Of course I told her about using IGENEX but she is limited to the lab she has to use at her clinic. I didn't tell her that I was going to an LLMD for further testing!
Anyway, here is what her office told me about this last test.
She said that on one part of it I have ONE POSITIVE band (didn't say which) but that 3/5 were required for a "positive" result ...
also on the "other part" of the test, I also had ONE POSITIVE band but again, the requirements are for 2/3 to get a "positive" result ..
BUT "you and I" know the problem with this! I will wait and see what my IGENEX testing that was done yesterday will show!
Just wanted to share this with you all ... you did warn

- What Lab did the PCP use? This is really important to know what bands they used.
Did she put a copy of the test results in the mail to you? If not, you might call back and have the office manager do that today. -

I don't know what lab but they used Quest last time. I DID ask her to mail me a copy though! I was "on the ball" with that thanks to all the help from this forum!
Don't worry ... I had blood drawn at my LLMD's office yesterday and it's going to IGENEX!

That doctor is quoting the surveillance criteria for CDC reporting, which CDC has said should not be used in a clinical situation (doctor's office) to deny a lyme diagnosis.
So, you are wasting your time with this doctor.
Also, regardless of what lab you use, the testing will not pick up all cases. I have said this to you before, but here it is again: do not put all your faith in testing.

I do know this ... that is why I went to an LLMD yesterday and paid $260.00 to have new labs sent to IGENEX!
I do also realize that even then, that labs don't always tell the "whole story" but my LLMD has already started me on abx and supplements for Lyme!
Be sure to read whole thread. This is just an excerpt:
This is a quote from Dr. C's Western Blot Explanation (at top of Medical section).
[As your test was drawn on a Friday] this explains why the blood must be drawn on Monday, Tuesday, or Wednesday only:
"The right way to process the Western blot specimen means for the blood to be drawn and express mailed early in the week.
Research shows the borrelia antibodies have the potential to clump together, resulting in false negative test results. So far, unclumping has not been practical for laboratories to do.
The fresher the specimen, the more accurate the test results. Patients at our office are scheduled Monday, Tuesday, or Wednesday if testing is to be done.
This way, express shipping will assure that the specimen does not spend the weekend sitting at the post office. This is the right way to test and ship borreliosis specimens. ". . .

Igenex does test for 10 IgM (not 3 like other labs) and 10 IgG bands.
My result was still "negative" but with Igenex I had a few Positive and Indeterminite bands that were lyme specific.
You may still get a clue from your Igenex test even if it is Negative.

Thanks for asking, seekhelp.

- Olive leaf extract (OLE) totally prevented systemic candida from even developing the last time I was on abx. Along with probiotics (timed away from both Rx and OLE). -

Commercial labs only look for the bands the CDC tells them to, which are the least common bands. The CDC does not want us to get treatment.
