Hi, my llmd has moved. The office has replaced him with someone I don't know much about(dr s), and they want to charge me full price for a new patient visit to bring this dr up to speed. I'm not too happy about that.
I have a 12 year history of symptoms, neuro(ms) and now cardiac issues, and haven't been able to tolerate treatments yet. So I feel I need to see a lyme expert, not just someone who treats lyme. Someone mentioned Dr. H, and I'm willing to travel if he's worth it.
Anyone have any info on him?
Thanks, diana
** edited to remove city (sorry, I don't know state to replace it with), please see terms of use, cities are not allowed to be mentioned **

I so miss not being able to see Dr. H. If I had the chance to see him I would. Pick up the phone and make that appointment.

do you know there is an active CA Yahoo Lyme Support Group?
And CALDA is also another good resource.
sorry, brain is not doing well enough to give you the URL's right now.
perhaps someone will come along with them.

Diane,
I am not even sure if he is practicing right now so make that call and find out.
There are others in the office you can see if he is during research and teaching right now.

California Lyme Disease Association (CALDA) is a non-profit corporation acting as the central voice for all tick-borne disease issues. An excellent website for anyone in any state. -

- Now, I'm not saying the other doctor might not be great. I don't know. You might call his office and ask for any details or literature they can share. Google to see if you can find anything the other doctor has written, ask at CALDA, etc. But, even if he may not be published, he might still be very good.
There are several good LLMDs in your state. Explore all your choices. The point is to find the one who will best work with you.
Good luck. -

kam, is dr h sometimes unavailable because of research and teaching? Just wondering about follow-up visits.
Thanks, diana

You would need to ask the office about his availability. When I was seeing him, he might not be available because he was giving a lecture out of state/country but I would schedule my appointments around that and was able to see him.

thanks everyone for your help, it's a bit stressful to choose a new doc. I guess I should feel lucky that there are several to choose from in northern california.
take care, diana

Still looking into docs, any info on dr g. He/she is closer to me, and since this will be a long term relationship, closer would be better.
Also wondering about changing offices as my ltd co is requiring me to apply for ssi, not sure it's the best time to have my records moving about.
Thanks, diana
