I don't know if anyone saw the first episode but one of the characters plays a washed up soap opera actress.
She says something to the effect of her being a great actress, especially when her character was suffering with a bout of Lyme disease.
They made it sound like a joke. The audience laughed..they made it sound like Lyme is not serious so it was funny that her character suffered with a bout of Lyme.
I don't think I am explaining this well but it really bothered me.

All passengers and flight attendants please take your seats and fasten your seat belts. 00:22:58 [screaming] - I knew something like this would happen.
00:23:03 All the great ones go down in planes.

00:23:08 Please remain calm.

00:23:13 All I cared about was being successful, and now I'm gonna die and I never got married or had children!
00:23:18 - And I never won a daytime emmy!
00:23:21 Not even the season I so courageously battled lyme disease!

Yeah, it would not have been as funny if she had said, "Not even the season I courageously battled cancer."
People don't see these diseases as serious unless they have it themselves. How could they understand?
I doubt the writers have Lyme...either they wouldn't be able to keep up with the demands of working, or their brain would be mush.
I guess this is one of those things you'll just have to let "roll off your back."
