Maybe if we all write letters, they will consider it.
I'm sure they will get some ID docs to dismiss our cases but maybe we can get some LLMD's on there.
What do you guys think?

- They tried that and it was a mild disaster. I admire Oprah in many ways but her format is simply not cut out to do a program like this justice and I think the political heat from a segment that would be adequately produced could destroy her health and ruin her last year of her program.
This past year, Oprah had the producers from the documentary "Under Our Skin" on with Dr. Oz - but he could not wrap his head around this and the program was inferior to what it could have been, mostly due to Dr. Oz's comments and the lack of ILADS people.
It also shared the program with MS and there was no mention that, often, MS is undiagnosed lyme.
A do wish FRONTLINE would look at this. But a recent program of theirs on vaccines was astonishingly full of errors. Usually, they are so good at presenting all the information but they really dropped the ball on that. Still, FRONTLINE is the best around.
I'd still like to see "Under Our Skin" take off even with a run on TV at prime time on a major network, with a panel discussion to follow with experts.
Oprah had an excellent series on bioidentical hormones for women's health this past year. I thought it was excellent. She had a balance of experts (and patients) but she was just blasted for that. Absolutely blasted.
For as talented and dedicated as Oprah is, controversy around this would cause a great deal of stress. She also may not have the staff to really pull this off. They do tend to call on Dr. Oz for all medical matters and he just doesn't get it - not really.
On one segment of his current program a couple months ago, Dr. Oz talked about lyme disease - for about 5 minutes. He did say it could be very serious if untreated but he totally failed to tell people that their PCPs know nothing about it, usually.
He also failed to discuss treatment length and the fact that there are other tick-borne infections that usually travel with lyme was totally omitted.
He had a couple errors about how long a tick needs to be attached, etc. So, while he did give few minutes to it to help with prevention, in no way was it all the information needed. He still sticks with the IDSA on this and can't imagine a short course of treatment is not enough. -

Good luck with that. Been here 10 yrs and it's been tried at least 5 or 6 times. Keebler said it well.
Maybe one day.
and I would say we shouldn't give up

I have not seen her deal with MS< Myasthenia Gravis, Lupus, Chronic Fatigue, fibromalgia, etc. etc. etc.
When I first came down sick, I was given labels like MS Myasthenia Gravis, Al's, etc.
Learned from the organizations for these conditions that many people go years and to many doctor's seeking a dx and help too.

Maybe if she gets Lyme she will. Though she has more money than the world and would buy the cure.
