There are alot of doctors out there who bill themselves as LLMD's and treat Lyme minimally.

I spent months with one of these as my symptoms worsened. Just a few pills of doxycycline and that's it.

They are not truly Lyme doctors.

I have no gripe with this, my gripe is that some of them won't tell you that they are treating you minimally and that if you are worsening that maybe you should seek someone more aggressive.

They are fully aware of the fact, but for whatever reason, they'll not pass on the information. My opinion is that most just want to stay under the radar.

Now I'm not saying that all doctors who treat minimally do this, but some do.

They probably help many who respond to their low dosages, but I don't approve of their practices.

They should tell you straight out from the beginning, "Look, I don't aggressively treat this, you may need more aggressive treatment from someone else."

I found out the hard way that I only respond to very high doses or IV.

I would have walked away and thought I never had Lyme if I didn't have the bullseye, a positive test and then all hell breaking loose. If I would have done that, my suffering would have been immeasurably greater.

I had to push and push to finally get the IV and learn that yes it does respond to antibiotics.

John... If you were given the name of an LLMD here that was doing minimal doses, please let us know.

Siciliano and several others, keep a running list of doctors. We need to get feedback on them.

thanks!

By the time I found Lymenet I had already seen the doctors. It took me quite a while to figure out what the hell had hit me and where the resources were.

I just say this to let others beware that there is a spectrum out there.

On one end you have those who treat like Burrascano and then you have the others who treat minimally, with many inbetween.
