So I was on Zithro / Plaquenol and Zithro / Omnicef for the past 4 months, alternating each month between the Plaquenol and Omnicef.
I have psoriasis on my face and the only thing that's ever been able to help is to get some sun. I can't shave when I have it, so I've been going tanning for a few weeks now that summer's over (once a week). I'm switching to Doxy now and I'm wondering if it's still OK to do the tanning *in small amounts*. Otherwise, I have unsightly rashes all over my face and I can't shave for fear of scarring
Any thoughts?

I got sun poisoning through the car window in March in Ohio with sunscreen on. I wouldn't risk a tanning bed. Can you supplement vitamin D instead?
If not, talk to your LLMD about the psoriasis. I could handle a bit of sun with minocycline.

Talk to your LLMD about this. There may be some other kinds of lights, like a particular blue light such as used for some Amish kids in Ohio who need a special blue light.
Can you grow a beard for a while ? You know, doxy may clear up your face.
Liver support might help, too. Skin problems are often a sign of liver stress. -

Work won't let me have a beard - I'll ask the Doc. I was originally diagnosed with Psoriatic Arthritis and treated for it, and the Lyme symptoms came out full force. I've tried everything for the psoriasis, and the bed / sun was the only thing that helped. Lyme blows!

We own a tanning salon and tanning and doxy is definitely an no no.
As far as tanning beds and psoriasis, they do help. We have several clients that say that's the only thing that has helped.
We even had one guy's dr write a prescripton for him to use it and his insurance paid for a whole yr. I was shocked that they paid for it.
We have drs recommend using the beds for it quite often. Also, some recommend it for the pain of arthritis. Of course, you have to start out slow and work your way up.
We used to have a man in his 80's come in quite a bit for arthritis. It def. can help pain but I don't know how long lasting it is.
Always make sure you aren't on some meds that are sun sensitive like doxy. You can get a serious burn. If not sure call your pharmacist.
