Has anyone heard of this: suddenly out of nowhere today I could not walk upright. Feel like some huge elastic band is around my lower back wrapped all the way around the front so tight that I can only walk if bent all the way over and the pain is not helped at all with NSAIDS or anything else. Diagnosed both pos and neg for Lyme over the last 6 yrs. not seen LLMD yet but that is next. Previous to this sudden feeling of parylis of lower quandrant, been home bound with severe muscle weakness, lightheaded, dizzy, headache, nausea. wondering if new issue is unrelated or not?
thks

Beagle, not sure but you should move this to medical. Think you would get more responses there.

You may want to research Transverse Myelitis. The classic symptom is a tight band like feeling around the midsection...usually caused by a lesion in the CNS which lyme can often do. Symptoms in the limbs usually affect both sides the same and can cause weakness to paralysis to inability to urinate.
It is considered rather rare and I dont want to alarm you; however, if you feel that your symptoms are worsening you may want to be seen to rule this out.
Please monitor your symptoms closeley so if they do infact progress, have someone take you to be seen quickly. A neurologist would need to examine you. Again TM is considered VERY rare but this was my initial presentation for lyme disease.
Research transverse myelitis association and all the symptoms are listed.
Best wishes.

Hello..... Currently dealing with demyelination/recent neuro dx of MS along with Lyme. We have MRI "evidence" of active lesions on C3,4 and 5. Also some chest tightening issues, but nothing effecting real resp function/breathing assoc with Panic attacks
Many seem to have similar muscle weakness/light headed dizzy stuff, etc... but yes, kimmie is right always good to "monitor" symptoms!!

HI, rocephin was great for me. I responded very well to it and quickly. Did wonders for the neuro symptoms. Unfortunately I developed severe GI issues (c diff) and had to stop.
I had made a lot of progress with the rocephin but I would suggest adding in flagyl pulses to get the cystic form of lyme.
Best wishes

I did the 2 gm and then moved to the 4 gm 4days a week.
Flagyl is a cyst buster used to attack lyme when it defends itself and goes into cystic form. Some people take it daily, some take it for 2 weeks at a time, some take it a few days each week.
I think rocephin is a great lyme drug and to help prevent relapse when coming off if you can add flayl at some point you will see even better results. Flagyl herxes are rough.
Best wishes
