ok, ok, i admit it. i tried again and failed. this time i'm fer sure quitting and not bring it up again.
i called her last night because she has a very bad case of this flu.
she was explaining her symptoms, bone pain, insomnia, you know the usual lyme symptoms.
i told her to please consider lyme. she said she's never been bitten by a tick and i said mom had been bitten by thousands and she said "oh that was when she lived in tennessee years ago, it doesn't matter."
i tried again and she said "i've had this since i was 18 and i'm just getting old."
tried again and she said "look, my doctor, who knows, has done all this bloodwork and something would have shown up. i have ra, face it.."
then she got po'd so i just changed the subject.
welll you can lead a horse to water but you can't make it drink.
i swear tho, i felt like saying "don't expect me to pay for your funeral"....
which because of her finances, will be left up to another sister and myself.

I gave up on my brother. Only it was the other way around.

This is all due to the medical profession's stand on lyme disease.
It is understandable that people trust their doctors to know more about disease than us. So, they won't hear us.
I call this time in history a medical holocaust for those with lyme disease. So many are suffering and will lose their lives to this disease because of the medical controversy surrounding it.
All I know to do is pray.

Unfortunately this is absolutely the truth.
I do not wish this disease on anyone. Anyone. But sometimes I do wish that some of the Quacks with their smug and self righteous attitudes get this illness and see what so many of us have had to deal with. And God forgive me for saying that.

^ I know I could only imagine what would happen if one of these Quack doctors own children got it. would they accuse their child of being psychotic and tell them its all in their head too? its rediculous
and Randi I totally understand what youre going thru. One of my friends elisa test came back positive but her western blot came back neg. her ID told her she didnt have lyme. she has had symptoms for 2 years. her ENT diagnosed her with merniers disease but I KNOW ITS LYME. she wont listen to me tho. she says the ENT knows what shes talking about and all this crap and im like YOUR TEST IS POSITIVE!!!!! ahhhh. shes been suffering for two years and is in her senoir year of high school and missing tons of days of school bcuz shes not well. its so frustrating. another friend of mine got lyme back in sept and was treated with the usual round of doxy from her PCP. shes now getting HORRIBLE HORRIBLE migraines. she was even hospitalized on CHRISTMAS DAY because of them. and the docs just sent her home with migraine meds. im telling her its her lyme not being successfully treated the first time but she doesnt listen
I feel your pain. they all need to come on these boards and see. then theyll understand

I have a friend with multiple obvious lyme symptoms. When I hear her complain of her symptoms I suggest she get tested.
She gets angry and puts up a defensive shield of armour. Calls me hysterical and that I think everybody has lyme.
She told me it's not part of her plan to get lyme
I finally told her that only she knows what is best for her body but I don't want to hear about her symptoms anymore until she does something about it.

I did talk to one lady once who was very interested in learning about lyme. she had two family members with an MS and CFS diagnosis. She was so suprised to hear that lyme can cause those. so she was really grateful for me for giving her information about it. and she wanted to know everything.
it was nice to meet someone open minded.

Lymegal, I've met a lot of people like that too -- who were interested and willing to learn as much as they could take in at the time.
Eventually people will be informed.
