Wondering if I might be the oldest one. Not asking to tell your age unless you want to but I turned 68 in Nov. Didn't get sick until I was around 57, wasn't dx with chronic lyme till about 3 months ago..
I am hoping there still is hope. I haven't gotten a LLMD yet as my doctor seems willing to work with me now if my body will let me work with him.
Had to stop my abx till we can get the GERD under control. Hoping to start back in a week or sooner and see what my body does. Oh, how discouraging.

62 here, and I believe I've had Lyme my whole life, got it congenitally from my mom. Diagnosed 2 1/2 years ago. Still treating, getting stronger, but have a ways to go.

I was 47 when dxd but in top physical shape. Lyme really did a number on me, but now, phusically, especially, I'm still on the way up, abx-free, except for occasional non-lyme infections.

i'm not sure when i got it, but i'd say i've had it my entire life. the marriage and move to texas plus the ensuing problems, brought it to a head. plus the multiple surgeries...
and of course, another big bite in 2006..

Sadly, Lyme can be contracted at any age and persist until any age.
Remember all the Alzheimer's patients who were autopsied after death and whose brains werefound to be infected with Lyme disease spirochetes?
The good thing is that with treatment most of us can hold our own or actually get better.

I'm 52. Was tagged with 'fibromyalgia' and 'chronic fatigue'. Actually had lyme for 20+ years. I am better, and in remission, but cleaning up the mess left behind by all those years of undiagnosed lyme.
You can get better. I am living proof.

Great to meet the older ones here..lol.. Yes, I have read you can get better but it takes a long time.. Well, I had better get started .. Not sure which road to take.
For now trying to get up the nerve to take oral antibiotics. I do not and probably won't have a LLMD due to the expense and travel. So I am still wondering about antibiotics.. Will a short term of 6 months be better than none?
Would like to hear some of your stories and treatments..

We're all different in terms of what we respond to. I've tried things that have made me very ill, and then I've found that oral clindamycin does wonders for me and I handle it just fine.
