Here is what I posted on our Activism page plus a little more that I just thought of:
This organization (www.change.org) promotes changes to right injustice, to help causes for social welfare. They will post petitions for people to sign and they get thousands of signatures.
I suggest that you who are not as brain fogged as I am write to change.org to suggest
1. that they register both lymenet.org and ILADS, CALDA as non profits on their site. It seems that they will do that with little hassle.
2. one of you lawyers (I don't know all of you that well to know who can best do this) write a petition to demand changes in Lyme Disease Guidelines to support long term antibiotic therapy (thanks to that I am now cognizant enough to write this post!!) Be sure to include significant data (actual numbers of cases, numbers of sick children, high out of pocket cost of care due to insurance manipulation, estimates of lost income and impact on GNP for starters) but make it clear and easy to understand and support.
3. get the word out to gain signatures for this petition....doctors, Congressmen, patients, media, etc. I think they are on Facebook, too.
4. Remember the old adage about the "squeaky wheel gets the grease".
Farraday
PS Some of you might like to rephrase this and repost it on Activism. I am sure that I did not include everything, but I cannot remember what it is.
