I have been without internet access for a week so I have missed you all!!

It's been a tough week. My daughter, who is the one who has LD in my family, has not felt well all week long. I'm sure it has some to do with all that we are dealing with.

My Mom has Alzheimers. My Dad cares for her and he is not doing well. He keeps falling and he took a bad fall on Monday so I have been staying with them this week.

He finally agreed to go to the doctor and they think he has some cracked ribs. My Mom doesn't understand why I am staying over there. She just thinks I am trying to run her house.

She still thinks that she cooks and cleans and runs her house properly, but she doesn't really do anything anymore. Everything is put on my Dad.

What makes me so mad about the whole thing is that my Dad had RMSF 11 years ago and almost died. Now he is having symptoms of LD in my opinion and I know that he won't try to treat it.

I told him today that I thought that was what was wrong, and I think he would tend to agree but he thinks he's too old to worry about treatment. OY!

To top it all off, one of my dear friend's son finally got his western blot test back this week and it it positive for LD.

While I knew that it probably would be positive, it still makes me so mad at this disease.

I AM thankful that he will get the treatment he needs at a much younger age than my daughter.

It seems like lyme disease is surrounding me. It's like everywhere I turn, somebody has it OR has many symptoms of it.

And to add insult to injury, you can't get the stinkin treatment you need without going hours away!!

I HATE THIS STUPID DISEASE SO MUCH!!!!!

I feel better now. Thanks to the lymenet for letting me vent.

Vent away!

I think we would blow up if we had nowhere to go to let off steam with people who get each other.

Maybe we need a Let's Vent thread. Lord knows I have a lot of venting I need to do.

Hugs

Very sorry to hear all that. My mom and dad went through really tough times like this. I do believe they both had Lyme. It was too late for them, since my dad died before I found out I had Lyme.. we never thought to look "there."

Mom was in assisted living when I was diagnosed. I knew that Lyme treatment would be impossible, so she was not treated either. I think (depending upon age) it would be very difficult for the elderly to go through treatment.

I hope your family can figure out what to do for your parents. It's such a nightmare when Alzheimer's hits.. or any kind of disability like that. It's just a nightmare.

Sorry to hear about your friend's child also. Like you said, at least they will get treated at an early age. Hope it goes well.

Come here to vent anytime!! I'll be praying for you and your family! [group hug]

that was MY thought to when I read your post.

Are you sure she has alsheimers(sp) or is that untreated lyme??

Any way she could get an abx challenge?? A good heavy dose of something to se if she herxs or improves on it??

How could they say it might harm her,,the harm is already there. Might be surprised at results of trial course.

@ Don. I would tend to agree with you, but it's useless to talk with them about it. If their doctor said to do it they would.
