Every time I see this relative of mine (my dad), he asks me if I am taking medicine and then preceeds to tell me why I should not take it.
yes. My bad. I get sucked in every time and have yet to learn to walk away when the subject comes up or leave the room, etc.
I sit there and listen like a dummy.
Today it was because the prescriptions we get at the pharmacies here in the US are made at someones kitchen table in a 3rd world country with rats and dirty hands, etc. for pennies and then they get sold here at the US pharmacies for $20 a pill etc.
I must admit he gets me every time. I have told him over and over that I am not getting well because I dont' have the funds to pay out of pocket to get the treatment needed.
I wonder how many times it is going to take me to not fall into that hole before I learn to go around it??

On the other hand, I kind of have this funny picture of someone sitting at their kitchen table stuffing the powder into the capsules one by one.

Sorry, but if your dad really believes that, he is either vastly uneducated and ignorant, stupid, or losing it.
If you buy meds from overseas pharmacies and manufacturers who aren't FDA approved... then maybe, just maybe the quality of that medication isn't up to our standards.
But let's remember that the FDA does an important job, and they do it quite well. Generic forms of medications have the exact same amount of the active ingredient and work the exact same way as their name-brand counterparts.
(Next time someone is ranting because the FDA took action against MMS or a quack LLMD, remember all the good work they do in protecting us from unsafe meds and foods. And yes, there is always room for improvement.)
