Good Morning,

I had a great Easter Weekend/Sunday. Service was wonderful. Nice hanging out with family and friends.

Always great to remember what our God has done for us...now and for eternity. Very encouraging!

Last time, Lymetoo posted this video and I think it's a great way to start out this week, especially after Easter.

"How Great Thou Art"! And indeed He is!!!

Lymetoo says, "If this doesn't make you cry, nothing will!

Carrie Underwood and Vince Gill .. How Great Thou Art

WOW WOW WOW"

Prayers and blessings for a great week. Shalom!

Good morning friends!

Great to hear you had a wonderful Easter, daisy.

I also had a nice Easter weekend.

Church was great.

Unfortunately, our grandsons were unable to go to church with us on Easter, but they joined us for breakfast afterwards and then spent several hours with us, which we are thankful for.

It was just my husband and I for a late lunch, so we went out to eat.

Great song/video that Lymetoo posted.."How Great Thou Art"....I agree...wow!

Here is a video of "The Divine Rescue on Highway 6" that I saw on tv this morning:

Good morning everyone!!

just a question ... are my crosses showing up, or just a link?:

 -

I see the crosses, but one person told me just a link is showing up. I want to use them one more day!

How Great Thou Art is a true beautiful song.

Dekrator, I watched your video link to Divine Rescue and would like to add my own story here. It brought back so many memories...

On a beautiful Fall Sunday over a year ago, I wasn't feeling great (before Lyme diagnosis) so my son & I decided to have church in the woods.
We packed the hot dog & marshmallow deal and the Bible and had a great time of worship together.

My son was back in the house & I was getting the last of the fire out when I heard a loud car come speeding up over the hill (road in front of our house) and a lot of extremely loud crash noises.

I came out of the woods as fast as possible (legs weren't working well at that time) to see the wreck across the road from our place. There were car pieces all over the road & branches, etc.

A young woman was beside the car screaming to call 911~she thought he was dead! My hubby ran to call 911 & I went to the car & girl.

Quick glance showed she was ok...amazing as car sheered off an apple tree and another smaller tree and was totally smashed...including whole side windows shattered & laying in brush by car.
The car stunk like burning radiator fluid & was smoking.

The girl was by the drivers side door & a young man was crying to her to get him out. 1st miracle...the door wouldn't open. I went to the passengers side & heard someone holler to turn ignition off. That done the car settled down smoke-wise.

The boy driving had long black hair all over his face & was very panicked. When I talked to him, he pushed his hair back .... at first I thought he was madeup for Halloween. His face was quite white and there were triangles of red under his eyes.

When he started spitting blood I realised he was bleeding from his eyes that bad. The rest happened fast but at the time was slow motion...a love came over me (could only be the Lord) and I reached in to hold his hand and try to calm him down.

Growing up on a farm, I'd seen animals die when they were as wounded as he was. I knew I had to tell him about Jesus but couldn't think how to do it. I remember wishing my Pastor was there, he is so good with the Word.

I asked him if he had any faith....if he knew Jesus as he should pray. He tried to pray...and I asked him if I could pray for him. I have no idea what I said but I knew it was horribly inadequate. No repeat after me....I'm a sinner, forgive me Jesus, come in to my life and help me life for You.....nothing intellegent.

The boy lifted his shirt saying how hard it was to breath....his ribs were obviously caved in on one side. He kept insisting there was water running down the back of his head though there was nothing there....

I kept watching for the ambulance to come and was amazed at the # of cars that carefully went by ... driving around all the debris and pretending not to see the accident!

Ambulance came...jaws of life got him out. I didn't know his name but his face was there every time I closed my eyes. I was very sure he would die and I didn't lead him to Christ.

Fast forward a couple months....I was in the kitchen baking when my husband came in from outside saying he had someone I would want to see.

The young man came in....complete with cane & cast-type thing from waist up & neck brace. He kept thanking me and said his Grandma told him to thank me for her. She knew God saved him!!

He said he awoke in hospital to doctors agreeing he would not live through the night. He was life-lighted to another hospital where the doctors said the same thing. He had broken pelvis, back, ribs, internal organ damage, etc. He said he knew the Lord had been there & saved his life!

I told him the Lord surely had great things ahead for him and to stay near Him.

So....this long post to say I know that the Lord restored the boy and he heard and saw things I didn't say....the Lord Jesus turned weakness/foolishness into strength and wisdom. What an honor to have been at the right place at the right time. Thank you Lord Jesus!! and thank you all for 'listening'.

DKat,

Wow, amazing story!!

God was there and worked through you!!!

It sounds like you said and did exactly the right things and you impacted this young man's life forever!! Praise the Lord!!

It must have been sooo scary at the time, but when you met this young man a couple months later, you must have felt such satisfaction in knowing you really helped him feel the Lord's presence that day and helped calm him.

It sounds like this young man is full of faith in God because of that unfortunate accident.

God bless you, DKat!!!

Good Morning,

I have been catching up on "Meet Me in the Meadow" by Roy Lessin. So good. Here is an excerpt. (Roy is the same man who did the devotional on "Shalom".)

"Believe what God can do. Do not place any limits upon God. There is nothing too hard for the Lord, and with God nothing shall be impossible. Believe your life is in His hands and He is taking care of you.

Confess: I believe there is no limit to what God can do and I place no limits on His working in my life."

This IS the day that the Lord has made; let us rejoice and be glad in it. I'll be back to post. Was blessed by your shares. WOW! Our God is powerful...ALL POWERFUL!

DKat that is an amazing story you share.

We see so little of all that is happening. God sees the big picture. God is always moving by His Spirit, going about doing good, even when we don't see it...and to think He uses people just like you, DKat, and each of us. That is amazing in itself.

Lymetoo, that is great how God sees and knows our hearts...after all, He made us. In Psalm 139 (my most favorite psalm) says, "He knows our thoughts before we think them. He knows our words before we say them." THAT is our God!

Dekrator, always good to read your encouraging posts to everyone.

sammy, look forward to the update about your trip to the doctor yesterday. Sure pray everything worked out better than you expected. Also, the latest on your arm.

MDW, miss you. I'm actually looking forward to a question or two. [Wink] Pray things are going ok...

Praying for you (not in any order): Lymetoo, KDat, Dekrator, MDW, hens, payne, elkielover, momindeep, lyme in Putnam, linky, and I know I've forgotten many. If you're reading this...I've prayed for you.

I'm praying that you sense God's healing touch in your body, mind, emotions, and spirit.

I wasn't bitten though...thank you Lord!!

You're being prayed for too. The God-thought thread is such a blessing to me. It' a blessing to pray for each of you...

daisy, Thank you for the prayers. I have missed you also along with the rest of my family here. I have been taught if you have nothing nice to say then say nothing at all. Well, this is what I have been doing.

Do you ever feel like you just can't catch a break and the one knocking on your door is not God? Yes, thats been my door.

I had jury duty today. I have thin patience. Groups were called in several times through out the morn....not my name. Finally we are asked to take a lunch break and be back in a hour. Joy joy, I get to sit outside for another hour on a bench.

I sit, I see a man down in the jaw with a blanket to his name sitting across from me. Felt sorry for the man and the thought came to mind to ask him to join me for lunch.... It was only a thought quickly replaced with what will all the people think, they are dressed to the nine.

A lady sat down next to me and all I could think was, please, please, do not chat with me I am so not in the mood to converse....she begins chat...Thanks a bunch God! I think.

She begins her conversation with are you here as a juror? I say yes, hope it to be over before rush hour.
She says, "my last name is Hope, and my first name is Faith." No lie! I tell her, her mom must have been very blessed by naming her Faith Hope.

She begins chatting about God and all the blessings in her life and never giving up. She asked me about God in my life...I say I thought I found Him but lately I lost Him again. She says He's not gone, as a matter of fact He has always been next to you.. and is very easy to find.
Just ask Him, he will show you the way, and she gets up and hands the homeless man a few dollars and a smoke. Sits back down and says Christians are people who reach out there hand to a fellow neighbor.

I think maybe I was the one on trial today. The subject turned to lyme disease, Faith began telling all these symptoms she was having and dr.s say it's just her age. I gave her the link to lymenet. Before we went our seperate ways, she says God-incidence we met.

Sorry I left you family, I am trying. I have some catching up to do along with prayers.

ps.... I am not asking for myself, but could you please pray for my mother...her kidneys and liver are failing and I must go home in May to take care of her for a bit. Please, I just started to get to know my mother in the last few years and not ready for her to die. I can not make it home to Illinois until the end of May, I have too many obligations that can not be put on the back burner.

Dkat~ WOW! what an amazing story! Thanks for sharing.

Daisy~ A HUGE heartfelt thank you for the prayers! We won't know this side of heaven how deeply our prayers affect the course of people's lives, but I'm excited to find out...someday [Smile]

MDW~ I'm newer here but found the God Thought thread last week. I'd been a bit selfish and focused way too much on myself and way too little on God. I was overwhelmed by His presence reading through the verses and words of encouragement posted here. I wrote that it never ceases to amaze me how gently God leads us back to Himself, when we deserve a 2X4 upside the head! You're not alone!

MDW, Your jury duty story is amazing....sounds like a divine appointment! I am so glad you were strong enough to sit through the jury duty thing. That is tedious when you feel 100%...downright painful in this body! We'll add Faith Hope to our prayers...

I'm sorry about your mother. I pray that the Lord would lift her up and restore her health and surround her with His healing love and peace.
That He will be preparing the way for your trip 'home' to help her.

elkielover, I remember your post from last week. I think this was the last day I had posted. Jesus must love me because He does not let me stray too far from His reach, and has ways to bring me back. I sure do test Him often...I do not mean to, it just happens sometimes.

Dkat, Beautiful story of God in your life to help save the boy. I do not know what you mean by
"turned weakness/foolishness into strength and wisdom."
Glad you found that tick and not bitten. Jury duty was very rough on my lyme body, but yes I did live through it and a blessing to boot. I finally was excused at 4:45pm and did not get out before rush hour. Downtown Atlanta is no fun during rush hours. I was too whooped to lose patience coming home..I listened to the Christaian radio station; beautiful songs my ears did enjoy. Thank you for praying for Faith and my mother. I recieved the sad news Easter eve of mothers health.

Have a peaceful rest my family and I am praying for you.

In one way it is so strange and in another way it is not strange at all.

Here we are on God Thought, we've not yet met each other in person, and yet I read what all of you have written, and it's as though we are family.

We're sharing around the table and our Lord is in the midst. Well, actually I think that is exactly what is happening. We are children of our God and He has brought us together for such a time as this.

I feel like we just finished with a Prayer and Share Meeting! I liked it A LOT! [Big Grin]

I am so blessed. Thank you all for your prayers for me. I am feeling better and better, and I know one of the main reasons is because of your prayers. Thank you my God Thought family.

DKat What a great share. I am so glad you found the tick, thanking God with you. [woohoo]

MDW, Thank you for always sharing from your heart. I hear you and I know how you feel. Thank God He is faithful to you and to me! [Big Grin] I'm so sorry about your mother. Yes, I will be praying. May God give you peace and help you in the months ahead. May God use this situation to draw her to Himself. Just like He's done with us (and continues to do).

elkielover, On Easter, I saw this sentence, "Jesus, I can't live without you." I thought that was good. It's true, too, both here and now, and in the then and there! His love hits me harder than a 2 x 4. [lol]

Dekrator, Your morning prayer plan, I was thinking, reminds me of Jesus. Wake up, pray, feet hit floor. [Big Grin]

"I pray that God, the source of hope, will fill you completely with joy and peace because you trust in him. Then you will overflow with confident hope through the power of the Holy Spirit." (Romans 15:13, NLT).

PS: I Previewed this Post...all those Graemlins...obviously, it's time for me to get to bed. I'm becoming silly. [bonk]

I did think of a song, "Children of God" by Third Day.

Good morning friends!

DKat,

So glad you found that tick before you were bitten! Praise the Lord!!

MDW,

Wow, you helped Faith and Faith helped you...perhaps there is a message there....faith will always help you and God is always there.

Praying for your Mother. Like daisy said, I am also praying that God will use this situation to draw her to Himself.

I hope your jury duty is done.

elkielover,

Glad to see you here again!! Always a blessing!

daisy,

I like what you said about all of us being family, sharing around the table and the Lord is in the midst!

Horray for that! My strength comes from the Lord!

You WERE silly last night! [Big Grin] I got a chuckle out of your comment to me.

Love that song, "Children of God"! (Hey, that's us!!!)

Perfect scripture you posted....Romans 15:13 is so uplifting!!!

Friends, I pray you all feel hope and peace today!

Hi Dekrator, Thank you for prayers for my mumzy.
I have not yet looked at your link, but I will.

The song "If you want me to," was written and sung by Ginny Owens. She was blind at the age of 2, went to college to be a music teacher, but people were skeptical of hiring her, so she became a song writer, with a beautiful voice. Christian woman she is.

she say.... Proverbs 3:5: "Trust in the Lord with all your heart, and lean not on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge Him, and He will make your path straight." It is a great verse of promise and encouragement, especially when there is much to think about and the temptation to worry.

Another verse that she loves is Jeremiah 29:11: "For I know the plans I have for you," declares the Lord, "Plans for welfare and not for calamity, to give you a future and a hope."

Daisy, my thoughts kind of ran over yours, I sorry. You say...
"We're sharing around the table and our Lord is in the midst. Well, actually I think that is exactly what is happening. We are children of our God and He has brought us together for such a time as this." Ever see that movie, hmm whats it called? Yes, Cast Away with Hank something?
I sure am glad we are family and not a "Wilson volleyball" [Big Grin] I am so glad you are feeling better. I also am happy that God is faithful. Thank you for praying for my mother and I too pray she finds Jesus.

Okay hope I do not chat too much for all.

Thank you all for continuing to pray for me. I'm using the hotel computer (don't have a laptop) so I have to be quick here.

My appt with my NY LLMD went well yesterday. I have a new plan and a renewed feeling of hope. My appt with the neurologist also went well this morning. I had alot of blood work done today and I'm supposed to go back to have an MRI and EMG done tomorrow.

Thankfully my arm seems to be healing. It finially stopped hurting, praise God!

If you will, please continue to pray for me as I have my testing done tomorrow. I'm nervous about it but hope that it will help the doctors to know how best to treat me.

Thank you so much for praying for me. I know that God is listening. I didn't know how I would be able to endure the long drive but God has really provided. So thank you all and please keep praying!

MDW,

Ginny Owens sounds like an amazing faith-filled talented woman!

Proverbs 3:5-6 and Jeremiah 29:11 are both so hope filled and yes, so encouraging!

skies,

Just wanted to say hi and glad to see you here! [hi]

sammy,

So glad to see that you were able to use the hotel computer to update us.

Thank you, Lord for answering prayers for sammy!!

Praise the Lord, you have a renewed feeling of hope, both your appts went well, your arm is healing and stopped hurting and you tolerated the long drive!! [woohoo]

Will continue to pray for you as you have your MRI and EMG and travel back home.

Philippians 4:6-9 (NASB)

6Be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known to God.

7And the peace of God, which surpasses all comprehension, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.

8Finally, brethren, whatever is true, whatever is honorable, whatever is right, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is of good repute, if there is any excellence and if anything worthy of praise, dwell on these things.

9The things you have learned and received and heard and seen in me, practice these things, and the God of peace will be with you.

Sammy, beautiful to hear from you. I am ecstatic that God is answering prayers and is standing by you. Yes, I will continue to pray for you.

Dekrator, I sure did enjoy reading Philippians. I took a peak at your link, how frightening that would be to run over your own child and the guilt to live with. I remember when Zach was 2 1/2 and we playing in the back yard with the water hose, he slipped in the wetness of the grass and broke the femor bone. I was so terrified and the guilt that ran through me was horrible.

I was scared the dr.s would not believe me because children had this kind of break usally from abuse. Thank God they believed my story and Zach was wet and grass on his body to prove my story.
He had to wear a spica(?) cast for 6 weeks to heal the bone.

Skies, please pop in more often and share with us. Yep, we have some good stuff here.

Daisy, I am raising my hand, you asked for a question, well I might en one for you. I was reading Mon 25th chronological read and um it says that the Lord put Saul to death, for breaking faith and did not keep the command of the Lord, he consulted with a medium for guidance.
Well, my question is so many people today have the special gift of seeing. If we go to a true medium to check out our near future, are we also not trusting in the Lord and have fallen short of faith? Is it wrong to see a medium? Is this not a gift from God?

MDW,

Wow, how scary that must have been when Zach broke his femur!..and 6 weeks in a spica cast....ugh!

I'm sure daisy will have more to say on the question about mediums....but my church says that mediums or any kind of fortune telling/astrology etc is not permitted because only God knows the future.

My church says "They contradict the honor, respect, and loving fear that we owe to God alone".

Leviticus 19:31 - Do not go to mediums or consult fortune-tellers, for you will be defiled by them. I, the LORD, am your God.

Leviticus 20:6- Should anyone turn to mediums and fortune-tellers and follow their wanton ways, I will turn against such a one and cut him off from his people.

Leviticus 20:27 - A man or a woman who acts as a medium or fortune-teller shall be put to death by stoning; they have no one but themselves to blame for their death.

MDW, Thank you for sharing that song and about Ginny. I admire her trust in the Lord and her song is beautiful! I like stories where good comes out of tragedy.

That must have been awful when Zach broke his leg and you were questioned on top of it! I know how that feels because when my son was 2, he had an allergic reaction to an antibiotic that went so quickly from a little rash to full blown welts all over his little body.

The doctor in the emergency room was so abrupt, insisting that if he didn't drink immediately, he would put an IV in. (He was too sick to want to drink & I know the doc was right, but his delivery was awful!) By the next day, my son's knees were swollen & welts were worse & doctor insisted that wasn't an allergic reaction, but that he had fallen hard. (He stopped just short of saying I pushed him or something!)

I want to watch Dekrator's link to Run Over now...

Run Over by Dad is an amazing story...that little guys faith is so great. I love when he says God can heal anything. Thanks for sharing Dekrator. The scripture reading from Philippians is so good ~ sometimes it is a discipline to change my thinking to something true, honorable, right, pure etc. But I feel so much better when I do.

MDW~just to clarify my post about "the Lord Jesus turned weakness/foolishness into strength and wisdom." I was thinking of this verse...
Common English Bible (CEB)
1 Corinthians 1:27 But God chose what the world considers foolish to shame the wise. God chose what the world considers weak to shame the strong.

Sammy, thank you for the update. I, too, will continue to pray for you.

I pray for healing and that you will feel the peace and comfort of the Lord while enduring the tests tomorrow. I pray that you find favor and are protected and blessed. God bless you and your Mom as you rest tonight and bless your trip back. Looking forward to a good report!

skies~hi. I like your signature..
"The simple things can get you through the hardest times." It took this hard thing to make me slow down to enjoy the simple things. But those things are precious.

daisy, that's a great thought about being family and sharing around the table with the Lord. I was thinking some day we'll be together before the Lord in perfection and though we've never seen each other here, we'll recognize each other. That will be fun! Glory!

DKat, looks like we're both on God Thought tonight. [Smile]

DKat and MDW, That's too bad about your ER experiences with the little ones. Doctors can be so insensitive and jump to conclusions. [Frown]

Poor Zach. Ouch, that must have hurt bad broken femur.

DKat, Must have been scary for your 2 year old, and for you too.

MDW, about your question...Dekrator answered the question very good, sharing from the scriptures. That's the truth. God's word is the authority.

Just imagine, Saul was chosen by God to be the first King of the Jewish people. At first, he was so humble depending on God and Samuel was God's prophet who would share messages from God to Saul. Saul became big headed, not trusting in God's word and taking things into his own hands. Sad scenario and he experienced the results of his bad choices.

Those people who have a "gift" it is not from God. The devil and his demons "guess" from the past...they do not know the future.

If Satan knew the future, he would have done everything he could so that Jesus would not die on the cross. The devil actually thought when Jesus died that he had won. Satan was wrong.

Jesus died, but as we know, He rose from the dead! Hallelujah.

The devil is such a loser, in fact, he's lost! Saul followed the loser. [Frown]

Dekrator, Thanks for taking the time to find the scriptures for MDW and share with all of us.

You also shared Philippians 4:6-9. Those verses have been a foundation for me as I've gone through some of the roughest experiences in my life. Those words/truths have been life savers for me...and mental anguish savers as well.

Have a great evening.

Everyone, please pray for MDW, her family and the people in Georgia.

A very severe storm is there now and 3 in diameter hail is expected and many tornadoes...some people have already died.

Lord, please protect MDW, her family and the other people in her area.

I ask this in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit. Amen

Daisy? I am thinkin hard this morning and no I was not pelted with hail Ha! these scriptures Dekrator posted I do not understand really, because what about those people that help the police find/direct to missing persons and people that say they understand animals?

I notice the chronological reads are becoming more read! yikes I am uncertain I can keep up with understanding with the pace we are reaching.

Some of you may remember David Wilkerson who worked with gangs in New York City and wrote the book, "The Cross and the Switchblade". He died tragically yesterday in a car wreck. It is a sad day on earth.

His ministry, especially Teen Challenge, had a tremendous impact on my family.

Here is a link to his final devotional...it is very interesting his topic,

and following is a link to his ministry, World Challenge.

His wife is in the hospital in critical condition. Please pray for his family and the ministry.

God bless you all. I'll be back to post later.

MDW, Couple things...

About the chronological read today, yeah, that was the most ever. I barely had time (as busy morning) to type it before going to work (of all days to have a long read--Ha!) But they are not all like today...with so many scripture references jumping here and there. Whew!

In Proverbs it says that there is a way that seems right to a man but in the end it leads to destruction.

We do see how some people have this "gift" and use it for the police or other good causes. But the results are hit and miss.

Bottom line, our trust should be in the Lord.

As I think of other things I'll share more on that. Maybe someone else will too.

I will pray for his wife and family.
You are correct in what you say about his last devotional...interseting.

Thank you for answering my question.

Skies great to see you again.

MDW,

So thankful you and your family are safe after those bad storms last night.

Praying for all the affected people.

daisy,

That is so sad about Rev Wilkerson. Praying for his wife, family and ministry.

My sympathy to you...your heart must be heavy, knowing how much his ministry helped your family.

I watched this video about "The History, the Heart and the Mission" of Times Square Church.

Very interesting, especially since we visit NYC often.

Hi skies! [hi] Glad you popped back in for a visit!

Amen to your prayer!!

daisy,

It is almost as though Rev Wilkerson's last blog was written to comfort all those who would need it, after he was killed in that car accident later that day.

I have a question please, I am trying to make understanding. I am at 2 Samuel 23:15-17 in my chron. read and stuck.

David wants a drink of water, three mighty men offer him water but refuses to take. What did these three men do?....this is the part not making understanding for me.
another question...is it a sin to be impatient?

Dekrator, Again thank you for the prayers. The weathermen were completely dumb founded the way the storm shifted when it got to the Atlanta airport, the storm was headed right for us and shifted. My area only had some rain, but devastating to so many other areas. Crazy weather it was, but some how it kept missing the area my family lives in. We had constant warnings then nothing, kept changing direction until 2am I think it ended. Must have been the prayers answered that my family was unharmed.

MDW~I'm so glad you're safe. That's awesome how the destruction of the storm didn't hurt you. I'd sure miss your questions. You do not just skim and read lightly..but really ponder what you're reading. That way you will own it...or it will be written in your heart (not just head knowledge from someone's commentary..you're proving it).

I've been thinking about your question re: Is it wrong to seek a medium, the scripture dekrator gave and the explanations from dekrator & daisy. I agree and will add what I've learned.

Scholars believe from the following passages that God made satan especially beautiful and equipped for leading worship. But, satan became prideful and declared all he would do to exhalt himself above God and receive worship for himself. No contest here, he is a created being (albeit angel) and God is all powerful, all knowing and ever present. God expelled satan from Heaven. http://www.biblegateway.com/passage/?search=ezekiel%2028:12-17&version=NIV1984
http://www.biblegateway.com/passage/?search=isa%2014:12-15&version=NIV1984

satan's tactics are pretty much the same today. He tries to take worship belonging to God for himself. He copies many things God does. So, basically, people can choose to love the Lord Jesus, learning about Him from the Bible and practicing what He teaches...or....people can refuse to submit to Jesus. They must then try to find happiness and self-worth in other ways. Anytime we seek knowledge of the future or anything else apart from God, our adversary will gladly step in to 'help'.

satan can help locate things/people because his henchmen are behind them disappearing in the first place. He (through people not relying on the Lord God) can predict the future, somewhat adequately, because he's been around for years studying people and he knows the Word of God better than some Christians (although he always twists it).

Jesus warns us that satan is a liar and that he comes only to kill, steal and destroy..and that he roams around seeking whom he can destroy. With that in mind, we can not align with satan~even if he appears helpful & good~because we know ultimately, he is out to destroy us.
http://www.biblegateway.com/passage/?search=2%20co%2011:14-15&version=CEV
http://www.biblegateway.com/passage/?search=Jn%208:42-44&version=NIV1984

http://www.biblegateway.com/passage/?search=1%20pe%205:8&version=NIV1984

So because the Lord has made us in His image and loves us, He forbids us to consult anyone but Him. He wonders why we would want to seek guidance from the dead. http://www.biblegateway.com/passage/?search=Isa%208:19&version=NIV1984
http://www.biblegateway.com/passage/?search=deut%2018:14&version=CEV

I love the way Holy Spirit gently leads us to Jesus and the Truth He teaches us. I'm so thankful for Easter....

I pray God will continue to bless and heal us and that He will keep us learning together.

DKat, WOW...loved reading all you shared. You surely went the extra mile, great info you shared answering MDW's question.

Powerful song, "Our God Reigns Here".

Dekrator, I tried to watch the video you posted from Times Square Church but wasn't able to access it. I think the website is totally overwhelmed with hits. My husband and I attended there when we went to NYC for our 30th wedding anniversary. It was great...and as it turned out both David Wilkerson (he preached) and Nicki Cruz were there.

Truly a great man of God who gave His life away for Jesus.

MDW, Great question about the three mighty men who gave the glass of water to David. I've always loved this brief story. The 3 mighty men did nothing wrong.

I chose this translation because it is quite modern day in the language/vocabulary used.

2 Samuel 23:15-17 (The Message)

"One day during harvest, the Three parted from the Thirty and joined David at the Cave of Adullam. A squad of Philistines had set up camp in the Valley of Rephaim.

While David was holed up in the Cave, the Philistines had their base camp in Bethlehem.

David had a sudden craving and said, "Would I ever like a drink of water from the well at the gate of Bethlehem!"

So the Three penetrated the Philistine lines, drew water from the well at the gate of Bethlehem, and brought it back to David.

But David wouldn't drink it; he poured it out as an offering to God, saying, "There is no way, God, that I'll drink this!

This isn't mere water, it's their life-blood--they risked their very lives to bring it!" So David refused to drink it.

This is the sort of thing that the Three did."

To David, the water became too valuable to drink because these 3 brave men could have died bringing David a glass of water.

Instead, David pours it out/gives it to God as an offering...because it was so valuable.

We have read in the Old Testament about the animal offerings/sacrifices, but did you notice there are other offerings/sacrifices too...grain offerings, and yes even a drink offering, etc. So in that Culture what David did was very significant.

The 3 men would have been deeply touched, not offended, that David would give that water to God. They realized how much David cherished their lives and that David was glad they made it safely back. David recognized their love and loyalty toward him.

MDW, Thank you for that question. [Smile]

Closing with DKat's prayer, "I pray God will continue to bless and heal us and that He will keep us learning together, Amen."

Sleep good tonight.
[group hug]

Good Morning,

TGIF, Thank God It's Forever!

In 2 Timothy 3:16-17 we read, "All Scripture is God-breathed and is useful for teaching, rebuking, correcting and training in righteousness, so that the servant of God may be thoroughly equipped for every good work."

That means as we read about "David and the Three Mighty Men" that is not just a story in a book. What meaning could there be...that God is wanting us to see?

As I think about it...this comes to my mind...

Jesus poured out His life for us.

Jesus help me live, really live, for You. Every Sunday our pastor says, "You have six days between now and next Sunday, don't waste them."

A verse for today, "This is the day that the Lord has made; let us rejoice and be glad in it" (Psalm 118:24).

Have a great day!

DKat,

Thank you for all your explanations regarding mediums and foreseeing the future...I appreciate all your work to share that, and the song, "Our God Reigns Here"!!

daisy,

Special memories you must have of your trip to NYC for your 30th anniversary, and so great you got to see Rev Wilkerson and Nicki Cruz!

Thanks for the explanation of MDW's question about the 3 men and the drink.

You always amaze me...I always think, "How does she know so much?"

That is the kind of explanation I need for the entire Bible...lol.

Also appreciated the thoughts you shared this morning....Amen!

I am in agreement with when you say, "Jesus help me live, really live, for You!"

Good afternoon, MDW!! I bet you are busy reading and thinking of some more very good questions!

It helps me alot, so keep it up!

Hope everyone is having a good day. I went to church this morning, then went to 3 yard sales (didn't buy anything).

I was watching the Royal Wedding this morning and thought I'd share some scripture that was read during the ceremony...

Romans 12:1-2, 9-18

1 I appeal to you therefore, brothers, by the mercies of God, to present your bodies as a living sacrifice, holy and acceptable to God, which is your spiritual worship.

2 Do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewal of your mind, that by testing you may discern what is the will of God, what is good and acceptable and perfect.
Marks of the True Christian

9 Let love be genuine. Abhor what is evil; hold fast to what is good.

10 Love one another with brotherly affection. Outdo one another in showing honor.

11 Do not be slothful in zeal, be fervent in spirit, serve the Lord.

12 Rejoice in hope, be patient in tribulation, be constant in prayer.

13 Contribute to the needs of the saints and seek to show hospitality.

14 Bless those who persecute you; bless and do not curse them.

15 Rejoice with those who rejoice, weep with those who weep.

16 Live in harmony with one another. Do not be haughty, but associate with the lowly. Never be wise in your own sight.

17 Repay no one evil for evil, but give thought to do what is honorable in the sight of all.

18 If possible, so far as it depends on you, live peaceably with all.

DKat, WOW! did you hear? I do not read much [lol] Thank you so much for all the time you spent searching scripture and taking the time to print all this. Lots for me to absorb. Makes meaning to me though.

Daisy, breaking down the scripture in people (me) language, I understand " David and the Three Mighty Men"
Now please correct me if I am wrong with what I might en see in this scripture 2 Samuel 23:15-17.....

When Jesus was dying on the cross He said, "I Thirst" Jesus is thirsty for love, and this is the thirst for everyone. Hmmm...think, yes... we all thirst for love of others, they go out of their way avoid harming us and do good to us, to give until it hurts....Jesus kept giving. Well the three men were willing to give up there lives to get that water for David and Jesus gave up his life for us. We should love Jesus and our neighbors with a big heart. Is this right daisy?

Daisy I like what your pastor say...6 days till Sunday, don't waste them...my week flies by and the next thing I know It is Sunday and I think...what did I do?

Dekrator...Busy,yes I have been, but no I have not yet read my daily reads.. will get on that even though I already have sooo many questions saved.
I did not watch the wedding...scriptures are good. You know what, can I speak my mind? Ok I will...
I do not understand how they can spend millions of dollars on a wedding when places in Europe are in great poverty and huge suicide ratings. I mean really...what exactly does the queen do? Get wealthy? I am off my tangent now, thanks.

ps.... dekrator, I am sorry, I was re-reading the posts and well, I never said thank you for the scriptures you posted for me about the "medium" thing. Thank You dear friend.

Daisy thank you for sharing what the scripture meant to you and the share to help make meaning for me

dekrator, Thank you for sharing the scriptures ~ I hope they meant as much to the new couple as they do to me. Wouldn't this place be so much different if we would do that. Hungry and poor would quickly become a thing of the past.

MDW....WOW~did you hear me you say....you're funny. I probably will never talk with you face to face on earth but, in Heaven if I see a circle of angels laughing with joy, I'd be pretty sure you'll be in the middle of them telling some funny, profound thing!

daisy, I love the way you explain the scriptures. You make it sound so simple and beautiful. I feel such peace reading what you say. (peace & bart....oxymoron?....must be Jesus in you!)

May Psalm 107:19-21 be made alive in our hearts!
Then they cried to the LORD in their trouble,
and he saved them from their distress.
He sent forth his word and healed them;
he rescued them from the grave.
Let them give thanks to the LORD for his unfailing love
and his wonderful deeds for men.

Good morning friends!

MDW,

You're welcome dear friend!

Can't say I know much about the Royal Family, but I did enjoy seeing the pretty dresses and the carriages, etc.

Waiting patiently to see what your new questions will be.... [Big Grin]

DKat,

Thanks for sharing Psalm 107:19-21....so beautiful!!

Well today friends, there is my grandson's baseball game to attend...first game was last night.

It didn't start until 7:15 pm and it was COLD!!!

I wore my winter coat, scarf, gloves, footwarmers, etc and was still cold.

Today the sun is shining, even if it was only 40 degrees early this morning.

Sounds crazy but I'll probably be hunting for some shade at the game because I'm on doxy. [dizzy]

Hi daisy! [hi] Hope you are having a blessed Saturday morning!

Friends, I hope your day is filled with joy, hope and peace!

I have recently been to a specialist in NY state who says I definitely have the symptoms of Lyme. He started me on 2 oral antibiotics for starters. I am from Southwestern Ontario. I am suffering from major neurological symptoms for years, am pretty much debilitated and am determined to get better. Any ideas how I can make sure I get proper help here in Ontario? I am under no illusions. The more I read the more I see how tough things are...to get help. Is there any chance of having a local MD continue help under the direction of the Lyme Specialist? He is top notch. Any other ideas? Thx folks...I am new to this site....is this message getting out to everyone?

Just arrived home from church. What a great service! Normally we don't have church on Saturday night, but tomorrow is one of the five top marathons in the nation and the Finish Line is right in front of our church.

The roads in downtown OKC are all blocked off, etc. Instead of the church people getting upset about it, the church gets involved. Opens the bathrooms up for the runners. Has water, etc. ready for them...use it as an outreach.

The marathon is related to the OKC bombing...

Here is a link to the marathon if you're interested in looking at it just for the fun of it.

http://www.okcmarathon.com/

Dekrator, I like what you said, "Good afternoon, MDW!! I bet you are busy reading and thinking of some more very good questions!"

Ha! I sure hope MDW is. [Big Grin]

It's been a while since I've been to a garage sale. I do like to pick around at them.

I didn't get a chance to watch any of the Royal Wedding, WOW, I really liked the scriptures you shared from the Wedding,

Romans 12:1-2, 9-18. Those make beautiful vows for a couple and for the Church of Jesus, His Bride. Thank you for sharing.

DKat said to me, "You make it sound so simple and beautiful. I feel such peace reading what you say. (peace & bart....oxymoron?....must be Jesus in you!)" Only on God Thought. That is good Dkat! [lol] [lol] [lol]

And we know that laughter does good like medicine.

MDW, Loved your sharing about Jesus on the cross and Jesus being thirsty for love. WOW! Jesus asking for drink, really shows how human Jesus really is. His body got thirsty..so very thirsty.

I never thought about it like that before. WOW. Like you share, "Jesus is thirsty for love." I imagine that He loves us so much He "thirsts" so much to have our love, to have a relationship with us. He died just to have that relationship forever!

MDW says, "Well the three men were willing to give up there lives to get that water for David and Jesus gave up his life for us. We should love Jesus and our neighbors with a big heart. Is this right daisy?" Yes! Yes! Yes! You got it girl!

Your comment about the Royal Wedding and millions of dollars...you do make a good point. We are our brothers keeper.

Oh God have mercy on us and help us. Oh, yeah, He did when He sent Jesus. OK, Lord, help us to be more like You!

Pray everyone is doing well tonight.

Good evening!

Had a nice day for a ballgame..sunny and almost 70 degrees.

Praise the Lord I was fine in the sun since the sun is not real strong here this time of year.

Deven had a couple of nice hits and fielded some plays too. Always fun watching the kids play ball.

rhody,

I hope you find the help that you need. Welcome to Lymenet and God Thought.

Feel free to come back to God Thought anytime.

daisy,

Wow, that Marathon looks like a huge event!! They even have a pasta party!

How wonderful that they found a nice way to honor the memory of the people who died in the OKC bombing....and great of your church to open their doors and get involved!

I bet it would be exciting to see the marathon.

Praying everyone has a restful night!

Why was David labeled as the man after God's own heart? 1Samuel 13:14 This question I continue to ponder over. Is this what made him king?

Daisy, you say you had a wonderful service, tell me about what you learned. I'm with DKat,you
make scripture sound so beautiful.

Dekrator, wonderful you had an enjoyable day with the grandchildren and the weather cooperated for you.

Good morning!

Dekrator, How fun...a baseball game...in the perfect sun shiny weather...watching your grandson. I can just picture how excited Deven was for his hits and fielding. [Big Grin] Doesn't get much better than that. Children and grandchildren are a gift from the Lord.

I did sleep really good last night, thank you very much for your prayers.

MDW, About David being a man "after God's own heart"...you ask a good question. At first glance I would say, "Yes" it was because of David's heart toward the Lord"...and then after a message like last night, causes me to think, "Which came first the chicken or the egg." And I'm going to leave you with that and expound on it later after I review my notes...and am able to put into words my thoughts.

It's like, "How could I not love Him, after the way He's loved me." So which came first?

rhody, Welcome back. So glad you're here a fellow Christian. God bless you. BTW, are you going to post a New Post under Medical with your questions?

Friends, God is with you. He never leaves us or forsakes us. We walk by faith and not by sight. We are never alone.

TGIS! Thank God It's Sunday! [bow]

Good morning,

It sure is a pretty day.
Daisy may I add to your thinking? I can't leave things alone [Big Grin] so I went to the back of my bible...whats it called?...let me peak real quick....Concordance, well I looked up all the scriptures (no, not all) under heart, well I found something in Acts..let my fingers type here....Acts 13:22

And when he had removed him, he raised up David to be their king, of whom he testified and said, "I have found in David the son of Jesse a man after my own heart, who will do all my will."

David finds what direction God is going and charges with all his might in the direction that pleases God. Right? David obeys and follows the commandments, and seeks only which is pleasing to God. To have a heart for the same things God has a heart for. Yes?

Boy if this is true, David sure did put high standards on the rest of us. My feet are not getting any bigger Daisy...small feet in a big pair of sandels; shoot, no wonder I keep tripping.

Which came first Daisy? the chicken or egg [Smile]

MDW, WOW! Great devotion you wrote. So glad you found that in the concordance and shared with us.

Well, I have a feeling that something surprising will happen, maybe tomorrow or for sure this week, reading through the Bible.

You will find out David, indeed, has feet of clay (he is human)...even though he has a heart "after God's own heart".

I will hold on that subject...don't want to spoil it.

And FYI...daisy ARE human.

"the chicken or egg?" really thinking here...I ARE a egghead. [bonk] [dizzy] [lol]

I am in a silly mood again. And so glad about it. [lol] [lol] Whew, I needed that laugh...so I've taken my remedies and now I've had my endorfun (endorphin) fix. [Big Grin]

What a great Sunday.

I'll share one thing our pastor said..."Easter is over. We celebrated it last week. BUT Jesus is S T I L L Alive!!!" [bow] [bow]

[lol] Got a goose egg there...pounding on your head like that with a mallet! Yes I would say that constitutes being an egghead [lol]

daisy, not sure what a devotion is, just thoughts to me. Can you believe I was up most the night before I found that scripture in acts? Yep. The way chronological read has been lately... truly hope to keep up, to miss a day, well it most likely will put me far behind. I really like all the Psalm readings...makes more meaning for me. excited for finding out if David has flaws, since you say he is human; nothing bad I hope.

Hi friends,

Here is the Gospel reading from church today:

John 20: 19 - 31

19 On the evening of that day, the first day of the week, the doors being shut where the disciples were, for fear of the Jews, Jesus came and stood among them and said to them, "Peace be with you."

20 When he had said this, he showed them his hands and his side. Then the disciples were glad when they saw the Lord.

21 Jesus said to them again, "Peace be with you. As the Father has sent me, even so I send you."

22 And when he had said this, he breathed on them, and said to them, "Receive the Holy Spirit.

23 If you forgive the sins of any, they are forgiven; if you retain the sins of any, they are retained."

24 Now Thomas, one of the twelve, called the Twin, was not with them when Jesus came.

25 So the other disciples told him, "We have seen the Lord." But he said to them, "Unless I see in his hands the print of the nails, and place my finger in the mark of the nails, and place my hand in his side, I will not believe."

26 Eight days later, his disciples were again in the house, and Thomas was with them. The doors were shut, but Jesus came and stood among them, and said, "Peace be with you."

27 Then he said to Thomas, "Put your finger here, and see my hands; and put out your hand, and place it in my side; do not be faithless, but believing."

28 Thomas answered him, "My Lord and my God!"

29 Jesus said to him, "Have you believed because you have seen me? Blessed are those who have not seen and yet believe."

30 Now Jesus did many other signs in the presence of the disciples, which are not written in this book;

31 but these are written that you may believe that Jesus is the Christ, the Son of God, and that believing you may have life in his name.

These are the thoughts of an aquaintance about today's Gospel reading:

On Thomas, the doubting disciple: These preliminary doubts of Thomas have served to confirm the faith of those who were to believe in Him later on.

What conclusion, dear brethren, do you come to?, asks St. Gregory the Great.

Surely it was not by chance that this chosen disciple was missing in the first place? Or that on his return he heard, that hearing he doubted, that doubting he touched, and that touching he believed?

It was by divine dispensation and not by chance that things so fell out.

God's mercy worked wonderfully, for when that doubting disciple touched his Master's wounded flesh he cured the wound of our disbelief...So this doubting disciple, who actually touched, became a witness to the reality of the resurrection.
