So someone told me since i herxed badly from rocephin that means i had a big load of lyme inside of me & have to treat it for a long time..
Also i realize a certain headache i've had in the back of my head for a couple months (before getting sick) started to show more when starting treatment.
But i've given birth 3 times & im pretty sure my Dr could have seen if my blood count wasnt normal.. Could i possibly had lyme longer then i thought?

Yes, easily. I think I've had it since my 20's (30 years ago).

I got it in college...maybe earlier. I am 40 now. I have 3 children, Lyme is not going to show up in any prenatal bloodwork. The only way you will find Lyme et al in your blood is if you go looking for it and even then...
Point is, yes it is possibe. I was sick when I got bitten, but never got treatment and here I am almost 20 years later...
Something that helped confirm for me, unfortunately, is that my children also have Lyme. We believe they got it either in utero or via BM. My oldest was then bitten by a tick which reactivated it. Are your kids showing any signs?

I was bit summer of 2009 and got sick very quickly...almost overnight. Though some times I wonder if I was sick even before that.
Do your kids show any symptoms? This would be a good indictor if you've had it much longer.

I don't know when I got it.
I think it was sometime in 2007 or 2008, but I didn't have major symptoms until Nov 2009. I was dx'd in May of 2010 (6 months later.)
But...looking back I have had some odd health things happen since I was a teenager in the early 1990's. ONE tonsil swelling up, IBS, Gastritis, etc.
So who knows.

I also started major symptoms after the (Lyme Flu).
I think for many of us, we have had it for many, many years.
I think when our immune system gets weak, that's when all hell breaks loose.
This can be caused by many factors - * a death in the family, loss of a job, sickness etc. So, if you think you may have had lyme for years, you're probably right!!!

I have noticed that some characteristics I have had, that have intensified over time, have intensified even more since I was diagnosed and started to treat. The fatigue and ADD in particular. So I oftne wonder how long I have had Lyme on board.
