Hello, A Happy Father's Day to all the dads! To those who are with us and those who are no longer with us. A father is a father forever Last year was my first Father's Day dealing with this disease.I created a new post last year because I was a wreck and so many people responded to the post and provided support. I still have those messages and I weep each time I read them and I feel an overwhelming sense of gratitude towards those folks. I am much better this year, but not even close to being out of the woods. So, Dad's, you are heroes, even though some days you feel like you are not coming through or can't do the things other dads do with their kids. Throughout this experience with Lyme, our children will hopefully walk away with a greater sense of compassion and appreciation. You are always heroes in the eyes of your children and may you all be blessed on this day with a little reminder of how special you are. -climber

Yes me to,I have missed my Dad all week.
We would all be in yellowstone national park on fathers day, camping at fishing bridge campground.
We would be catching cutthroat trout.
I would buy Dad fishing lures for Fathers day.
He has been gone for 18 years,he died of prostate cancer at 65 years old after fighting it for 9 years.
Dad got prostate cancer when he was the age I am now.

I lost my Dad to an autoimmune condition in 2004. In hindsight, it was clearly undiagnosed Lyme and co-infections.

OH MADDOG!! My family went to Yellowstone twice when I was a kid. I just LOVE that place! My dream is to return there one day. (when my ship comes in)
BoxerMom.. I believe both of my parents died from Lyme. Dad had "Parkinson's."

I am always grateful that my youngest son's birthday is around the time of Father's Day (we celebrated yesterday), because my boys and I have no daddies or grandpas left in our lives, and we miss them all!
Lymetoo, my dad was my hero, too, and there is a special bond between a father and a daughter that cannot be described. I see the loving expression in his eyes, the smile that never quit, and the laughter he enjoyed until he would have tears streaming down. He was good to everyone he touched, and we lost him much too soon. I still miss him dearly.
I do tell my boys they should get me a Father's Day card and/or gift every single year, because basically, I have been mom and dad to them all these years, but they never do, lol. I know they miss their dad, too, but we are so grateful to have one another.
Happy Father's Day to all you fantastic dads on Lymenet. Keep fighting that battle and moving forward, and know that you are doing the very best that you can! I hope you all have the wonderful day that you so deserve!
Best Wishes From Me, Hope
