Able to do the 10 min loop in the forest. They had a team using chain saws to get things prepared for a controlled burn sometime on down the road.

Put two loads of laundry in. Wtg for clothes to dry now.

Took out trash.

Hskpr/caregiver was here. She vacuumed, washed dishes, made hamburger patties. folded a couple of quilts, washed the dishes, swept/mopped the kitchen floor I think.

had me sign papers for both report card for old hskpr/caregiver who is out sick and for annual review.

So brain got a work out this am. Couldnt't sign my name again so sqribbled. She also kept it short one the paper work as far as needing to read what I was signing.

Told her i would not be able to take it in so just let me sign the papers.

I am done in for the day but it was a productive morning.

OOPS.. guess I did entirely forget about this thread!! Had an appointment with the cardiologist and a spinal decompression treatment this afternoon.

My lower back is really NOT happy. I blame the hospital bed!

I wanted to wash clothes tonight, but it's hard to get things out of the dryer. Dang. Feeling rather useless around here! have so much cleaning to do...

kam.. You really should try coffee in the mornings to get you going. Buy some Folger's freeze dried coffee. Then all you have to do is heat up some water. (saw your thread on Exedrin)

It was nice outside today so took a 15 min walk outside. I wish the weather was like this all year around - it would be perfect!

Tutu - Oh no - lower back hurts on top of heart issues? That is not good!

Alice - yes laundry baskets are tough. I make my bf do the laundry and then I do the folding later. Works out for me!

Kam - maybe try green tea too? That is supposed to have more caffeine than coffee (ounce per ounce I think).

Good to read what everyone is doing.

Did the 10 min loop in the forest this am. Forestry department was once again using the chain saws to get ready for a control burn afther the limbs die off.

In my mind I did that whisle thing and then told them to take a 10 min break so I could have some quiet on my walk.

Guess they can't read minds.

Considered going back up the small incline to get my ear plugs but that would have done me in before I got started.

I did not get a good night's rest last night either so tough getting going this am. Resting now.

Tried to find an enevelope and postage stamps when I got home but couldn't be on my feet to sort through things and move about.

Envelope and postage stamps are not where I last saw them.

Hoping to rest and then try again

RE: Coffee...going to try and find a small container to put some hot coffee in that will fit in my cargo pants pocket.

I have trouble walking and carry a cup.

I like to walk the 5 min in the forest. Sit on the rock. Drink a cup of coffee and then walk out.

My treat to start the day and about my only treat fo the day.

Since weather is getting cooler...something warm would be much better. When I am drinking something cold while sitting on a cold rock in the cold...I can't sit long enough to recover from the 5 min walk.

Alice in LL....it took me several times and years before I finally give up on certain foods.

I was able to find the stamp (only one left) and the enevelopes. it still amazes me how something that simple is not do able one time and then fine after I have laid down for several hours.

I also took a sit down shower.

But, was doing the coughing thing when I recalled I left my clothes in the laundry rooom yesterday and tried to get them and Rosie out the door..running into a neighbor or two.

it was too much. But, glad I remembered I had left my clothes in the laundry room. I had been looking for some of my clothes for a few days.

I keep changing sizes so don't have much to wear that fits.

Alice .. I hear ya on the food cheats. I did the same thing yesterday and today. Comfort foods. So far haven't felt the negative effect.

kam.. glad you found your clothes and no one took them!!

I went for bloodwork and stopped by the grocery store today. So much for exercise. Sure want to get back to exercising. Feeling weaker and weaker.

Heart feels better today... back and neck .. not so much. GRRRR.

PS.. had a negative reaction to new heart med .. doctor said I could go back to med number one. I just have to stay hydrated so my BP doesn't get too low again.

and my potassium is a bit low .. again .. may have to supplement

We are a mess! It's great to come here and get encouragement.

Need to get home and help the hubs with pt and do a load of laundry.

Have to get up early and go with him to pt and learn his new exercises and then hopefully home to go back to sleep.

Really hard for me to work even part time with little sleep.

Need to cut some grass so might try that this weekend.

See you all tomorrow!

Hope you got some sleep.

Looking forward to hearing that you are back to your visits at the gym and track Tutu.

Sweet dreams all

Quick outing in PC this am to toilet Rosie.

Then off to get some groceries. From the time I got dressed to the time I was able to lay back down it was an hour outing.

Right foot numb again. Got about a weekend's worth of groceries.

Before lyme, I was able to get 2 weeks worth of groceries and put them all away within an hour.

I still need to put away the non frig items this am.

Tutu - eat some bananas for the potassium? Or that is too much sugar though..

Kam - is there a grocery store nearby that has a home delivery service? There is one near me but the problem is that you need a minimum order amount and I like to pick my own meats/produce. But maybe for things like milk or eggs or stuff that is basic and heavy, you can have them deliver and put in your fridge for you? Just a thought..

Yes TGIF. I could NOT fall asleep last night - too many thoughts running around in my head.. I need to just relax. Maybe need to take some Melatonin drops again.

Went to CVS yesterday to pick up more pills and then went to Trader joe's to get some food. They have these bags of kale that are already cleaned and cut up in small pieces which I love so I just sautee that with oil in a pan and mix with eggs or some meat. Quick dinner.

But then I got hungry around midnight last night while my mind was racing. hard to sleep when you are hungry and brain is going nuts!

PG...hope you get several good nights' of rest soon.

Like the kale idea.

No stores that deliver yet here but I am on the wtg list for when they do. Not sure why they havent' started that here yet. Lots of sr citizens here so I know they would most likely do well.

I think I have only been to Trader Joe's once or twice when visiting a friend. I like that store.

AIW...I too like picking out my own foods. I went years not being able to do this so really enjoy being able to now and then now.

The sentence ...got some issues to work out in my brain made my brain hurt. [Smile]

Cool that you are able to do a little each day and keep things up a bit.

I was able to put away the dishes on the counter that the caregiver washed on Tuesday today.

Did the 10 min loop in the forest but it was a rough one body wise. The chain saw gang was there but further into the forest so it wasn't a problem with noise.

Watched two little gray squirrels run up and down a tree trunk and out on the limbs while resting on my rock.

Rosie ws not ready to get in the car yet so I drove on the paved road while she ran for a bit.

Walked into local electric place and asked them to help me fill out a form. Pulled up a chair and sat at the counter while they filled out the form. All went well with the brain with the exception of having a couple of glitches.

Learned it will be an hour and a half to my new primary doc as the clerk at the counter lives down the hill.

Hah! Finally got some exercise today! Cut grass for about 1 1/2 hours. Hips and bad shoulder are hurting. [Frown]

Gotta cut more tomorrow after work. [shake]

Kam-I love that smell too. Love to look at my yard when I'm done too.

Penguingirl-TuTu posted about some sleep stuff awhile back that I took to heart. I buy Vitamin Shoppe brand's sleep aid that has Melatonin, 5HTP, GABA and L-theanine? and other great stuff in it. I can't live without it. BTW, love kale! [lick]

Alice-You gotta try the stuff I told Pengy about. It's great and about $14.99 a bottle. You can order it online too. I'll find out the exact name and post tomorrow.

See you all tomorrow!

Thanks ALW! I do love Melatonin. I am so tired now though already so maybe I won't need any tonight.. we shall see..

Hope you are not too sore tomorrow from all that grass cutting! Good job!

I did about 35 min of Wii Fit today. Just some balance exercises and then this bike trail(well you are not biking actually - just stepping on the Wii pad lifing up your heel up and down.

I like Wii Fit because it is motivating for me - I am so goal-oriented - ie - if it is a game against myself - I like to make sure I can beat the next level.

PG Wii Fit sounds good.

ALW..hurray...that is a lot of grass cutting

confused about the sleeping stuff brain wise...hope to sort through it.

Taking generic sleeping pills, glycine and gabapentin at night to help me sleep.

did not start sleeping routinely until the gabapetin was added.

Most likely will be out of generic sleeping pills before I see new primary doc the end of the month.

So, hoping to sort through and see if I can figure out what you all are talking about with sleeping stuff.

Tried melatonin for years off and on...did not work. Went years without getting a good nights sleep so nice now that I am able to sleep most nights.

Good Bye September. Welcome October and hopefully fall weather.

We got a summer storm yesterday afternoon, evening. So outing was not until late and it was dark. Just took Rosie across the street to toilet via the PC

Did the 10 min loop this morning. Chain saw gang was not there. Forest was quiet.

I think I saw Bear Scat this am. I did not think to check for bear tracks until I got home.

Bear Scat was on the asphalt.

Walking this am was not fun. One of those mornings were the brain struggles to take each step. But, still thankful i was there and able.

Sit down Shower before I went so that might be why I struggled more this am.

Pretty sore from yesterday. Have to cut some more grass when I get home. It's so much cooler now so have to take advantage of that. [Big Grin]

That stuff I buy for sleep is Vitamin Shoppe M.D. Select, Dr. Ronald Hoffman, Advanced Sleep Formula.

It has 5HTP, melatonin, hops, passion flower, valerian, L-theanine and GABA.

Helps me. Sometimes I sip a glass of wine or something with it.

See you all later!

Able to clean up a bit in the kitchen while on my feet. Started up DW.

Took trash out in PC. Neighbor on 2nd floor balcony wanted to talk.

I was having trouble multi tasking...opening the door, getting me and Rosie out the door, balancing the trash bag between my feet on the foot plate...hoping it did not fall off...not flat surface on foot plate..it has too bars sticking up so also trying not to puncture the trash bag, hold a box in the hand that I also use to move the joy stick and get the bags from the fence post with the cat litter in it to the dumpster.

So, I had to ignore my neighbor...didn't even have it in me to say I can't talk right now.

I also finally got the cactus that was bent in half supported. I dont' know if it will make it or not. Looks like it was too late but time will tell.

It is long and tall. I wanted to put a sign on it (Viagra anyone?)

I was able to do that on my feet too. I think it has needed to be done for over a month or so now.

When I watered the plants the past month I just didn't have what it took to take care of limpy.

Good job, AK!!

Liked your Viagra joke, kam. Watch out for those bears!!

My heart is still a little jumpy, but doing better I think. Will have another EKG on Tuesday.

My back is a little better. Wish my neck was better too!!

Managed to go see my friends at cardiac rehab on Friday. I just sat around and talked to my nurse friend and others.

The weather is awesome!

AIW..I got worn out just reading about your errands.

Able to sweep the patio this afternoon and took Rosie around the block in the reclining power chair with leg lifts. That did me in. Back to the couch sooon.

Sunday...we made it through another week.

I did the 10 min loop in the forest. Saw Elk on the way there. That was a treat.

Bear Scat is gone. My theory on the poop that magically disappears (including dog poop) is that it becomes javelina food.

I also was able to get gas for the car. I wanted to do more but a bit car sick.

Took me awhile to figure out what was going on and that I would most likely feel better if I just came home and laid down.

Able to make a cup of hot coffee this am to take with me.

Had trouble carrying the coffee mug...on the way back got the idea of putting it in my pants like the people on TV do with guns.

That worked. Walking much more do able for the brain.

Now, I just need to learn how to make a good cup of coffee.
