Haven't had mine replaced but having some problems with mine too. Noticed I'm having problems with walking and carrying weight and pushing the lawn mower.
Did you get just an xray or did you have to get an MRI to find out what was wrong with your hips?

Make sure it's not your knee. I know that sounds stupid, but I know 2 people who had knee replacement only to find out a few months later that their knee is bad and was the problem to begin with.
My SIL is having a tough time with her knee replacement. It was done in June and she is still suffering. She is one of those who has now found out her knee is bone on bone.
I suspect they did overkill on the hip. She was still able to walk without pain prior to surgery. Not now.
What is resurfacing?? Do you have spurs or what?

If you're going to go through surgery, get the hip replaced. They have made great advancements with these procedures. You will heal quickly, feel better, and be able to return to a more active lifestyle after the surgery.
I would highly recommend Dr. Urse or Dr. DiCicco (or one or their partners, they are my favorite ortho docs in the Dayton area). They have several practice locations, here is their website: http://oaswo.com/Locations.php
I used to work with these guys so I know that they would do a great job and take good care of you.
Should also add that they replaced my moms knees a couple years ago. She is much more mobile now than she was before the surgery. Said she wished she could have had them done sooner (had ins problems because she was so young, had to wait and fight for approval for several years).
Take care MADDOG

They are good MADDOG, that's why I was hoping you'd live close enough to consider seeing someone in that practice.
I have a very hard time trusting doctors. The fact that I've let them take care of my mom speaks volumes.
Their physical therapy group is great too. They've helped me recover (and even avoid surgery!) after a couple severe injuries.
