My poor husband has been so sick today. He is supposed to get IV Drugs starting this week. But it seems like he has been deteriorating so quickly in the past few days. If only the doc would move a little faster. That has been such an issue. Getting the dr. to move faster. And he is a Lyme Doc.

Are you doing anything for him in the supplement line?
Supplements won't treat Lyme, but they can help build up his immune system so he can fight lyme better.
My husband is also the one treating Lyme. He has been taking supplements for years. We feel that kept him from crashing completely.
He did take garlic soft gels after he was diagnosed with Lyme until he could get in to see his LLMD, and get on meds.

He also has neurological issues with his leg. A terrible limp now which started back in March of this year. Then we thought he was having a heart attack in July and he had a heart cath which showed he wasn't plugged up at all. But he continually got worse. Now he has terrible air hunger and just has all he can do to walk between the couch to chair. They are supposed to start IV drugs hopefully tomorrow. I am just so scared that we'll find out its ALS after all this. But thanks for your supplement suggestions.

I remember someone saying on either "Under Our Skin" or Burrasacano on "Putting Lyme Behind You" that you won't know for sure until you treat the lyme, and if the patient gets better, then it's lyme.
Lyme cure/recovery isn't over night (some people take years) so I would imagine it takes time to determine the ALS/lyme connection.
Hang in there and give it some time. Try to stay positive.

Thanks so much. Yes, his doc is ILAD trained. But so darn slow in returning phone calls as is his nurse. Very frustrating. Thanks again

My LLMD keeps reminding me that Lyme treatment is a marathon, not a sprint. I can completely relate. It can get absolutely miserable trying to kill the little bugs. He's lucky to have such a great advocate in you...Fighting for him when he can't.

He is on Day 3 of Rocephin IV Drugs. I've seen definite improvement. But a long way to go. Thanks
