i don't know if anybody on here knows, well maybe a couple, but i was raised in an extremely violent home. my mom and all of us lived in terror of our father. the rages and yes, beatings on us, i'll never forget.

i actually had one doctor say my physical problems were due to the abuse i suffered as a child.

bull____. if that's true, then millions of others suffered the same childhood and i know that's not true.

that's one of the more outrageous statements i've heard. and i've read it in articles also.

have you?? our background, how we were raised, and to some extent our stress levels, i don't think play a large part in our lyme. yess stress makes it worse but it is not the cause of the lyme.

or am i crazy??

Not the cause of anything that is spread by ticks, fleas, etc.

Yes, my background of playing in the woods where the ticks were. Crissakes, what doctor's will say to people.

I think docs blame a lot on stress simply because they don't know.

Something that I will probably look into though that kind of relates to this is EFT, emotional freedom technique (or something like that). Something about blocked emotions holding us back. It sounds like mumbo jumbo to me, but hah, it's cheaper than all the dental work.

Sorry about the beatings. I had some as a kid but not like yours.

I believe that the stressors from our childhood can make us more susceptible. I think our immune systems are "frayed" from living in a high stress environment, therefore making us more likely to get nasty diseases.

Personal opinion only.
