I usually don't make NY Resolutions because my years are so unpredictable. But this year I have one. Walk. I want to get outside and walk every day no matter how crappy I feel.
Years ago when I was complaining to my piano teacher about the terribly complicated exercises I had to do in every key I was reminded of something. If you aim for 10 and achieve 7 or 8 you have done quite well. But if you aim for 7 you will be lucky to make 3. Aim high!!!!
I am also working on my writing....short stories, essays, reviews, books, blog, etc. I cannot for the life of me figure out how to self publish, but hopefully the new IV Rocephan will clear out some cobwebs and return some of my memory to me. I signed up for Twitter but can't get my phone to Tweet!
Another great new thing in my life is my Kindle. I read the New Yorker every week, old books, new books, every kind of book. It is wonderful! I can make the print big enough to see!!!
Wouldn't it be great to have a roving geek ambassador to visit us and help us deal with all the complex technology we need to communicate and to help us work more efficiently. My husband is brilliant, one of the originators of wireless technology. But he is hopeless at helping me!
My son suggests I simply (hah!) get a Mac and go to the Apple store for help. Maybe if I sell a book I will be able to afford one.
I use Adobe Photoshop to some degree and I make scrapbook pages and cards. So I do use my computer a lot. I worked at MIT in the 60's when we had punch cards and enormous sorters. I helped to set up the first computerized library at Annapolis in 1968. So you'd think this would be easy for me. But I have a lyme induced lobotomy!!! There's a new acronym to add to our collection: LIL! LOL!!!

I didn't really make any resolutions, just set some goals. My main "goal" is to begin my treatment for Lyme and stick with it. I started last fall and quit because I got scared. I always seem to know how to take care of everyone else but my self. 2012 will be different!

Dogs and Cats, try again to PM me your address so I can send you the card I made for you. My office got torn apart to make room for kids so I am in process of retrieving all my stuff and getting set up and organized again. My computer crashed in the midst of all the moving so I need to start over.
I have tons of stuff written for blogs, web pages, etc. but I need to figure out how to find a way to present it cleverly and in such a way as to be useful to readers as well as to be entertaining.
My granddaughter wants me to write my memoirs first. But if I do, and I tell the whole story, my elder son will clutch his chest and die! I may have to put them away for 100 years. My younger son is cheering me on. He calls me his "Hippy Mom". I like that name!
Lots of my stories are very funny...our blended family, at home hospice care (yes, even that has funny, somewhat bittersweet stories), my business and public persona, and my very funny sons. Most people think they are twins. They look very much alike and are rarely together that they are not laughing uproariously, to the delight of the grandkids. I even wrote funny restaurant reviews. Humor has truly been a big part of my recovery. Our family has a huge amount of energy, lots of laughter and love. I feel most blessed, and somewhat obligated to tell the story.
I'll let you know how my walking is progressing and you let me know how you are moving forward. Let's keep this thread going to encourage folks to GET UP!!!
