Topic: wow! my baby boy who was txed for lyme 7 times b4 he left home for college got a job

a real job!!! he has been in college about 7 years i think...cantreally remember...but he did 4 yrs for his BS and then started his doctorate and just got the job to start as soon as he finishes---hopefully in february!!!
every time this kid told me he knew he would get a job i kept quiet and prayed he was right
lots of ppl are not getting jobs after college these days
and clearly he is extremely smart...but he is very quirky...disorganized, was dyslexic, impulsive...i really didnt know for sure if he would ever really go to work
this is wonderful news for my family but also good news for all you parents of children with lyme
i dont think he was born with it. his came on very fast one day when he was about 18 months. he had been very verbal and kind hyper-active...but that day he woke up and told me his feet hurt and he couldnt walk. luckily he tested very positive at infectious disease doc. this was 25 yrs ago. and 10 yrs before i got dx.
he went on to be very active...but when he went down on the couch i knew he had been bit again. 3 weeks of doxy and he was running around again.
7 times b4 he left home. once he was on the soccer team and also had ebv at the same time. he was very sick that time. he also had many bouts of strep throat but they refused to take out his tonsils.
like my other kids i think he still has some residual stuff...but this is a very good ending compared to others
many times i had to fight to get him meds...i was known as the crazy mom at the peditricians...and the crazy wife to my husband and the crazy sibling to my brothers and sisters but it paid off
i know how hard it is for those of you who are parents...just please believe you are right and hang in there

thank you all. i am very proud of him. i let myself dwell on the good stuff as long as i can cuz the bad stuff keeps coming back to kick me in the butt.
when i look back i cant believe i did what i did. but i want to encourage all of you to keep fighting.
remember...we are not given more than we can handle.
