I'm sorry. But sometimes I just want to get drunk. I know I will pay for it the next couple of days but I just want to forget.

Just for the moment i want to feel loose, and fancy free. I wonder if it really matters whether i get well or not.

Who cares? Right now anyway. Maybe in 10 or 20 years when I am diagnosed with alzheimers, someone will care and remember what i was trying to tell them.

But right now, I just want to get drunk. JUST BECAUSE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Oh, dear. Can't say I blame you. I indulged in some alcohol over the holidays when I was off abx. No big flares or crashes. My intestinal yeast had a big party, though.

Nobody can imagine how hard this is. I'm sorry you're struggling, but I do love your irreverent attitude!

Hang in there.

Thanks! My mind just rattles sometimes. I know too much. Have you seen the movie "The Notebook"? She has alzheimers. That's me. I won't know my children. Or grandchildren.

I am only 52 but I forget a lot. I know what the future holds.

Today, and only today, i don't care. Nobody really cares.

I am just going thru the motions.

Yes, I would like a drink or a valium or a percoset. I'm sure it would only be a temporary solution though, so I'm lucky if I get a small piece of 85% dark chocolate.

For memory/brain issues, try acetyl l-carnitine with Sam-e for mood.

Good luck.

Ha Ha Ha!!!! I'm not sure if I can remember my drinking days. But I am probably more confused these days than I was then, so maybe, in a way, I AM drunk! [Smile]

Why not settle for a heated throw, a hot mug of cocoa and a sappy movie???

I admit that I do miss my happy hour after work and my wonderful wine collection. Every now and then I allow myself to have a small glass of wine. I know that I appreciate that far more than I ever appreciated wine before because it is such a rare treat!

It DOES matter that you get well! That point is not negotiable! We are all here for you and we DO care that you recover!!! Just one day at a time. You'll make it, I promise!

i feel you!

because of my lyme, my body is so messed up i CAN'T even get drunk when i try!!!

i drank an entire bottle of wine, and nothing happened... literally nothing!

i've always been against alcohol, but my physical pain has been so unbareable i decided to try getting drunk... something i would normally NEVER do!

pain meds seem to have little to no effect on me, and alcohol is the same.

this disease is ridiculous!!! i am sorry you are having such a rought time [Frown]
