Hi All
This is sort of random so i posted it in general. SOOO When i eat dairy sometimes my throat feels sore or my glands get swollen.

So I have gone off and on dairy over the years, but theres like no good alternative to greek yogurt! And i don't notice any other symptoms when i have dairy.

So i was muscle tested for Dairy yesterday and she said it was fine for me....SOOO am I harming myself by having dairy?

I have so few little things i can eat, I'd love to hold onto it, but i think i'm answering my own question.....

You might want to try coconut milk yogurt. So Delicious is one brand. I drink coconut milk kefir and really like it. I also drink tons of milk and it has always agreed with me, but everyone is different.

If your throat feels sore after drinking milk, I would pay attention to that. Your body is the best indicator even over a muscle test.

Yes it is delicious!

but doesn't have very much protein and theres like double the calories :-(

I think it may be a smaller intolerance since it only happens if i have a lot. But ill pay attention. Thanks!

As you investigate and gather information to help you come to a decision, you might first want to consider the links below, and then search more, especially in the area of the best diets for those with autism.

I recall reading in the "Don't Drink Your Milk" book that the casein in milk is just like GLUE to our immune system.

Now, you may be able to handle milk, or certain yogurts, cheeses, etc. but these can all be a disaster that we may not be able to identify. Pay attention to even subtle clues.

Also know that anything that causes phelgm in your nasal passage or throat can also do that in your gut. It can feed yeast and contribute to "leaky gut" as well.

Is there POWERED MILK (or milk solids) in your yogurt? If so, Google more about that. It's toxic.

About Greek Yogurt. Yeah, I love it, too. But even that gums up my ears and nose. So, I only "do" it now and then.

But, I came back to be sure you know that MANY even plain yogurts use POWERED MILK that has some toxicity issues of its own. The powdered milk is added to increase the thickness of that Greek Yogurt that is becoming more popular.

READ the label. Call the company. Find out exactly what is in it. And go for the full stuff (or maybe low fat), NOT "no fat" as that will quickly turn right to sugar in your body and your body will make its own fat from it.

We need some of the fat from the milk to balance out our blood sugar. Food is usually best as it comes from nature, whole, without additives.

DIRTY SECRETS OF THE FOOD PROCESSING INDUSTRY

by: Fallon, Sally, M.A.

Excerpt:

POWDERED MILK

When they make dried skim milk, first of all it is forced through a tiny hole at high pressure, and then blown out into the air. This causes a lot of nitrates to form and the cholesterol in the milk is oxidized.

Those of you who are familiar with my work know that cholesterol is your best friend; you don't have to worry about cholesterol except you do not want to eat oxidized cholesterol. Oxidized cholesterol is used in research to cause atherosclerosis.

So when you drink skim milk or low fat milk because you think that it will help you avoid heart disease, you are actually drinking this oxidized cholesterol which initiates the process of heart disease. . . .

no, no powdered milk. But thats interesting-- I did not know that!

I used to make my own yogurt-- its fermented for 24 hours, and that way it breaks down all the casien and lactose. Maybe that could be my compromise....

Not able to read what others posted. But, I too was tested for dairy and told I was OK.

I know I am not OK. I do eat goat's milk yogurt, goat's milk cheese now and then, and drink goat's milk.

I read somewhere that the system is able to digest goat's milk better.

I recently started to drink kefir again if I remember to get it at the store. I heard it is also good for lifting the mood.
