How many of you have written down a time frame plan? What is your goal for today? For this week? For this month? etc.

I have trouble because my life is a roller coaster with good and bad days. But it's getting better and a bit more predictable.

Soo...now that my birthday is over, I have set a goal. Next year I will be well enough to throw a party!!! I plan to work very hard this year to get over the hump, out the door, driving again, talking and thinking well and having enough energy to function, to socialize, to write regularly. I will do what it takes...and that probably means IV's and strong nutrional support. We are saving every dime for it and meanwhile using herbs.

I would love to hear your plans? Writing them down makes them more official, I think. And it lets your family know your plan and they can offer support and may think you are not as crazy as they had thought. Maybe. Maybe not. But so what. You knowing where you are headed is really all that matters.

Next February, we are taking a family trip to Disney World. I want to be able to go without the "uh oh, how will I feel when I wake up tomorrow" feeling.

We have already booked some of it, forcing me to focus on getting better. So, I completely agree with you that having some kind of goal helps to maintain focus.

On those days when I think, "I cannot put another pill in my mouth," or, "this diet is getting so old," I focus on next February to find my motivation.

I also have a child who is entering kindergarten in the fall, and I have a goal that she not see me as "sick" by then.

Good for you!!! My daughter, unfortunately, barely remembers me well. It took too many years to discover the lyme disease. But when I finally had IV antibiotics for sepsis and began a "miraculous" recovery I realized I had a chance. So every day I walked a little bit farther. My goal was to walk alone down the aisle of her wedding. And I did!!!

I think your trip is a wonderful goal. But don't worry if you need a wheelchair for part of it. I still use one now and then (ex.for a museum that is too big). But I am probably much older than you are. Oh, and you get to go to the head of the line. My kids were delighted to push my chair at Disneyland!

Keep going day by day. Put on a little makeup, wear pretty clothes and jewelry. Every little bit helps.

Yesterday as I walked out of a restaurant after my birthday lunch some people cheered me and complimented me on how nice I looked. What a boost that was!

Keep us posted on your progress!
