Excerpts: The DNSChanger malware replaced the Domain Name System settings for the computers and routers it infected with addresses of malicious servers.
Users who found themselves landing on strange sites unexpectedly were likely to be infected.
Most victims don't even know their computers have been infected, although the malicious software probably has slowed their web surfing and disabled their antivirus software...
The FBI is encouraging users to visit a website run by its security partner, http://www.dcwg.org , that will inform them whether they're infected and explain how to fix the problem. After July 9, infected users won't be able to connect to the Internet.
The DNSChanger Eye Chart is a tool to detect infection. DNS Changer Check-Up http://dns-ok.us/
If the user on an infected computer goes to the site, the image on the page is displayed with a red background. If the machine is clean, the image has a green background.

I talked with our IP yesterday and no one at Cableone had ever heard about this. He did say if something came through they would try and notify all the Cableone customers.
I saw a press release from AP, but that still isn't a guarantee that it's true.
IP guy said if you don't have it now, you probably won't get it. Who knows?

Tutu, it's not a rogue report. You could google for news reports, which is what I did after reading about it in the newspaper.
The government spent money for a temporary fix, but when they withdraw that July 9, if you're still infected, you won't be able to get online to find out how to repair yourself.
