My last daughter got married Friday at 5pm scheduled.
Really neat place for an outdoor wedding in the hills/country.
A whole wedding theme huge ballroom with an outdoor wedding chapel area with fountains
With all the amenities including a shuttle bus from the motel 10-12 miles away.
Slight delay in wedding cause shuttle full of guests on it when it blew a tire. No problem just wait a bit.
Waited JUST long enough for the rain to start. And it rained all the way thru. A new meaning to a wedding shower.
Guests got a bit damp. Best man held umbrella over groom and half of the bride.
Rain ran right off umbrella down the brides back of her neck. They didnt care, just happy to be there.
My first outdoor wedding and am batting one for one in rain department. Does it rain for EVERY outdoor wedding?

My husband and I were blessed with a beautiful sunny day when we got married in a park overlooking Admiralty Inlet/Puget Sound.
It was a total crapshoot, and we did have a backup plan. We got lucky.
It POURED at the last outdoor wedding we attended. It was a Victorian themed wedding, and the Maid of Honor held a parasol over the Bride. It was lovely, if wet.

BTW - Congratulations, Father of the Bride!
My father gave the best speech at my reception. I've since lost him, and not having a video of that moment breaks my heart. He was so proud. And funny!

Congrats, don!! Finally got 'em all married off, huh!?
Hope they have a beautiful marriage!
I would never have been brave enough to have an outdoor wedding. Living in Houston, it rained all too often and was in the 90s that day as always in June.
Actually, I don't like to ATTEND outdoor weddings, esp now with the fear of ticks. My nephew just got married in Austin and though I would have loved to have been there... I am GLAD I wasn't! It was in a park. I would have been a basket case worrying about ticks.

Our wedding was in Lake Tahoe - well, not in the Lake..or on the Lake...
We we dressed warm as we were 2nd time around casual jean attire....
But you could see the clouds coming in over the lake and the sweet bride after us comes dressed in a low cut wedding dress.....she was already shivering. I have a feeling it was a fast ceremony.
It snowed that night....

Ah congratulations Don.
A video of the umbrella draining into the back of your daughter's wedding dress just might be good for that TV show!

this was an outdoor garden,,,patio,,,all concrete with wooden folding chairs
concrete walk and wooden bridge over stone creek...didnt see a tick all day
I suspect I may have to 'start over' with just one daughter,,,the rest should be good for many more miles.
Least it wasnt 110 in the shade,,,that would be much worse for me, I think

Too bad about the showers...but if the bridal couple were still happy despite nature not cooperating with their plans, that is the important thing, right? It shows they know how to make the most out of a situation, and that means so much in building a successful marriage.
You all will have some unique memories of the wedding day!
I had a daughter get married that same weekend. They had planned an indoor-outdoor reception, and the forecast threatened rain for us too, but the weather held for us. Still, I would not have minded a little dancing in the rain!

My husband and I got married in my parents backyard 33 years ago in May. It was a miserable cold, raw and rainy day. But in our case, the rain brought us good luck. I feel like I couldn't have found a better person to spend my life with. He has been a rock through this lyme nightmare.
My daughter is getting married on the top of a mountain the end of this month. If the weather is bad, the reception will be indoors. This is my first time being mother of the bride Hopefully, my symptoms will not be flaring with all the stress.
We also have a shuttle from the hotel to the wedding site. If we have rain, I will be thinking of you, just don, and not feel so alone
