Another week.

Jimmy1-How's that fractured pelvis? I fractured mine along time ago and took quite awhile to heal. Hope your doing ok.

Kayak-Are you in your new house yet? Did all the paperwork go thru ok?

TuTu-Sorry about your feet still hurting. Hope you can get some relief soon. You know I use a infrared light device on my bad shoulder and screwed up scalenes. It's really helped me alot for soft tissue damage.

I had a super busy weekend. Took Mom's and Co. to Atlanta and built 2 ramps yesterday.

Needless to say I'm here at work and I'm pretty sore. Especially my back, legs, arms oh heck....all of me's sore!

Starting out the week like this..... [Roll Eyes]

Tuesday-Vacuumed and baked a ham and threw together a julienned potato/brocolli prepacked mix and baked that too before work.

Now all I have to do is go home and nuke dinner and watch some t.v. after work. I can't wait.

Wish I could take pictures of the ramps. They seem to be pretty sturdy. I used 2x4's and 3/4" plywood. All pressure treated to withstand the elements.

Rocky's finally figured it out and is going up and down them like a champ. He's a big spoiled thing! [Roll Eyes]

See you all later!

ALW...ouch...hope you are doing better after some rest

jimmy...i must have missed that post about the cracked pelvis or it didnt' stick with teflon brain

tutu...oouch....sure those feet improve asap

kayak...ah i can hear the relief and peace

ALW..I'll be over to join you for dinner. [Smile]

Not much moving the body here. Maybe tomorrow.

I am hoping to be able to take a sit down shower today and clean up in the kitchen a bit.

I can think of lots of things to do in my mind...it is when I get up and try to move the body and use the brain that I am just too drained.

Moving Monday was getting out the door to have a stress test done. I left the house at 7:15 am and got home at 11:00 am.

Loading and unloading and loading and unloading the chair to go one place is taking a toll on me but still enjoying being able to take my chair with me.

It needs cleaning up too...noticed lots of grease coming out of the motors.

A pastor from a local church stopped by today. I was only able to visit with him for 10 or 15 min est.

Nice of him to stop by. He said he would stop by again.

Usually the fear of being so low functioning hits me.

But, today it as the fear of people knowing how low functioning I am. Strange.

Kam... jimmy's report is in last week's thread. She rode her bike to PT and crashed. OUCH!!
So nice that the pastor came to see you! How nice of him!

AKL... Would you come over to fix me dinner tomorrow? It's not THAT FAR!!! [Big Grin]

I've hit a new low. I now have a handicapped placard. Well ... I will as soon as hubby goes to get it!!

Still unable to do much of anything. College student may come over tomorrow. Not sure.

Getting the placard is a good idea Tutu.

But, I know what you mean about things.

Starting to recover from Mondays' outing.

Still haven't been able to take that shower. Maybe today.

Tutu, I agree that getting the placard is a good idea. Not a new low - just a little extra help in a temporarily tough time. Those tootsies will get better.

Kam, a stress test counts as tons of exercise. You deserve a break after that.

Aklnwlf ... I want ham! And a lovely potato dish.

Kayak, hooray for your new house! So excited it all worked out for you!

I'm supposed to stay in bed flat, and can only leave the bed to visit the ladies room. So exercise is using my crutches to occasionally venture out to the living room. A real treat. Hubby brought my laptop in to me so I can connect to the world. He's the best.

Wednesday-Slept in and just did dishes and now I'm at work.

Wish I could send everyone some ham and potatoes!

Have so much leftover ham, I chopped it up to use for casseroles, eggs, etc. and put it in the freezer.

Kam-I hate it when I have to get out super early in the morning. Makes my day seem extra long and I pack more work into it.

TuTu-Hang in there! Glad to hear that the hubs and someone else is lending a hand.

Jimmy1-Laying flat helped me recover so much when I fractured my pelvis. I used a walker too which helped me get back and forth to the bathroom. Get better soon!

Just Don-I'd send you some if I could. I had tons of leftovers!

See you all later!

Finally got that sit down shower, body is weak adn shaking and heart was pounding.

Resting now then I will get dressed.

tutu...indoors a power chair would work better...I think...Just hoping feet are fixed soon

ALW...last time I had ham I left it in the frig too long. I thought I was OK until I did a search on the web on how long ham can last in the frig.

I had planned on putting some of it in the freezer.

ALW...I like getting up at dawn or before and getting out of the apartment.

Dawn and Dust are my two favorite times of the day

jimmy...still trying to recover from Monday's outing (stress test)

I thought the only stress part of it was all the movement to get there...but after someone posted on my FB page I realized that it was most likely harder on the body than I thought since they put meds in me instead of having me walk on the thingamajig

Glad you are allowing the bones to heal and have something to take your mind off of things while you are laying down

PS I checked my log to see when I was able to shower last as it seemed like it had been a very long time.

I showered on the 7th so it was my norm...one shower a week ..although I really miss not being able to take more and stand up to take a shower

I really miss taking a bath too. But, even if there were a bathtub here I don't know if I would be able to get in and out of it.

Gosh! I slept til 10:19 today! I stayed up super late and watched the 2 hour premiere of Dallas. I missed the first showing and watched the rerun.

Sure brought back some good ole memories to see J.R., Sue Ellen and Bobby again. I might have to start recording it. I usually don't watch t.v. regularly cause something always comes up but I might have to tape this one.

So I didn't have time to do a thing this morning outside of walk Rocky around the yard.

TuTu-Hate to hear that your feet are hurting so badly. Wish I could think of something to help. When Bart was causing me alot of pain in my feet I used that infrared light thingy I bought for $99. I still use it for tendon, ligament and muscle damage in my neck, collar bone area and shoulder. It's a life saver for me.

Kam-I love dawn and dusk too. I can't get up too early because sometimes I have sleep issues, but thank God not lately. Dusk I love because right now that's when the fireflies come out and it starts to cool off down here.

Know what you mean about the baths. I love to take a bath but my tub is a small mobile home tub and isn't very deep so I just take showers. What I wouldn't give for a nice deep tub to soak my poor aching body.

Anyways, gang, have a great day and see you all tomorrow!

finally able to get out of the house this am.

1st drive was to the dog park a mile away...just there long enough to let Rosie toilet.

I wanted to go from there to the grocery store but I was too weak. So headed home and laid down.

Then dropped Rosie off at the groomers...again on my feet just a few steps to walk her in and me out.

Off balance every time I was on my feet this am but at least I was on them.

Then able to walk into grocery store to elec pony..very short time there too as I was too weak to hold myself upright in the elec cart.

Came home and laid down.

Then stopped at 2 places to get myself groomed.

2nd place was able to get me in.

Not sure what I look like yet. All I can see now is that it looks like I have blonde hair and it is pulled back.

I'll know more once I wash my hair myself. I think she cut my bangs too. I wanted them to grow out so I could pull them back too.

I was able to clip the side bang back so bangs are not across forehead.

Hoping to be able to get in the power chair and head across the field to pick up gabapentin next.

If doing well, I will also head over to the feedstore to get Rosie's food.

I really had difficulty sitting upright in the hair dresser chair.

I slouched and put my feet up to help. I also put in my ear plugs to help.

My brain was not working well enough either.

As I told the lady that my hair needed 3 things: coloring, a cut and something else which I can't recall now.

I told her I could only hold myself upright for 10 min so she needed to pick which thing to do.

She said highlights would be the best as it would blend the gray hair and the color that is growing out.

1st for me fo highlights.

I reclined in the car while the dye was doing what ever it does.

I forgot that I couldn't handle chemical smells but got thru it.

She then washed my hair. Which was great. I wish it was that easy to wash my hair at home.

And proceeded to to cut it and dry it and use a curling iron on it and then pin it up.

It took all I had just to try and sit there or slouch or get out of the chair and stretch a bit.

Next time I will go in and just say I need a trim and no drying etc...I will just let it dry on its own.

Cut and go please.

I hate it when my brain is not working well enough to do what is best for my health.

But, also glad I got grooomed too.

cable/net/phone guys just left. they couldnt make my big tv work. good i went out and bought a small one for exercise room...thats in living room now. glad it works. but it is all so complicated now. the remote is very similar to the last one thank goodness...i have a long learning curve on remotes.

the ozone machine is working in the room i really want to sleep in. too much cig smell now. that machine makes huge numbers of emfs...it supposed to do a small room in 3 days...hoep it works. also will try clay kitty liiter...and baking soday on rug...there is still so much air freshener left over i was wheezing last night. i was also exhausted and in bad pain from last run north.i have many windows open and fans going. ac comes sunday.

KAM-seems like u are running all over the place. i need to get groomed too. i saw an ad for a sale for a special pedicure around the corner...it went on and on about the soaks and massages and you also get a margarita...but i cant do that. id neve make it home.

i am totally in wheelchair now. i forgot the walker and one cane doesnt work. i'm elevating and icing too...i just hope i can be ok enough to drive trailer sunday...i have so many guys lined up to work.

anyway...i have real internet and phone and tv now so...much more settled. still need to cut out a strip of rug so wc works better in livingroom and to hall

I hit the wall. They called me at 12:45 pm to pick up Rosie.

It was too hot to head that way in my power chair so I drove and walked in.

Then took Rosie to an area down the street to let her out to toilet. I stayed in the car.

She peed and then got right back in the car. So thankful for that. Sometimes I have trouble getting her in the car in that area.

She then came home and drank 2 bowls of water.

I also was able to finally clean out her water bowl.

Then make me a breakfast smoothy while on my feet.

That's it. I am done in. But, did more than I have been able to in a long time.

Tutu...I tried to take a pic but all you can see is a small part of the hair pulled back on the fore head.

I am thinking I might just let it go grey again if I can handle it. I like it on others.

I did look in the bathroom mirror when parts of it were starting to fall down and it does look like the highlight thing blended it all in.

Not sure how that works but better than half gray and half whatever color I colored it last.

No demark line.

Kayak..when I first came down sick I decided to purchase a TV since there wasn't much else I was able to do.

the cable guys came out 3 or 4 times before they got it right.

They could not get it to work either at first

I had an antenna on the roof at that home so I was able to get 3 stations.

Kayak...ugh..sure hope the smells go away for you soon and you get some down time so the body isn't in so much pain.

It is tricky with a power chair and carpet. I can imagine with a manual wheel chair. Ugh.

I use baking soda on the carpets month..most likely should use it more.

The vacuum I got at the thrift shop looked new but when I got it home it smelled like cat pee when it was running.

So someone on here suggested the baking soda. That worked.

Rest so you can drive Sunday. [Smile]

TGIF!!!

[woohoo]

Just walked Rocky around the yard today and will do my grocery shopping tonight.

TuTu-I just checked the link and couldn't find the unit anymore. I can call the guy, I've spoken with him before when I bought mine.

I'll let you know if he's still selling them. The link is heelspurs.com. And I think Dallas came on TNT but I'm not sure.

I forgot it too and lucked out while changing channels. Glad I had a chance to watch it.

Kam-I laughed while reading your post. Not sure what color your hair is? I did that once myself.

I've got dark brown hair and did my own highlights once and my hair turned out to be blonde!

Boy was I shocked! I'm with you about the cut and go. I don't like to spend alot of time at the salon. Glad you and Rosie got spiffed up.

Kayak-Sounds like Millertime! Time to kick back and relax. Phone, internet, tv and you're good to go.

Glad you're getting settled in your new pad. How's that ozone machine work? I live in a double-wide and got some odor near a bathroom exhaust pipe.

What kind of unit do you have? I had a small tower unit that my Mom gave me that I think was ozone.

I just had to wipe it off on the inside periodically. Let me know if you have a chance.

Going to my Mom's tomorrow for some shopping and down time and Sunday gonna wash the outside of the double-wide and putz around in the yard and build a quickie ramp into the pen for Rocky.

At least that's the plan.....

ALW..sounds like a good plan.

Able to drive Rosie out to the forest this am. She ran while I drove once we got there. Too weak to be on my feet for the 10 min loop.

I did stop by a yard sale on the way back. Est on my feet 5 min maybe less.

I have trouble seeing and thinking when I am on my feet.

I stopped because I saw a pic that would work for the hallway walls here at the apartment.

Management has asked that we pick up pictures for the walls from the thrift shops or yard sales.

I left the pictures I saw and got 3 others that were framed and matted and had a subject matter I liked better for a $1.00 each.

When the lady said she use to have them in her kitchen, I recalled I needed pics for my kitchen.

Able to hang one. The other will have to wait until my brain is working better. I need to put in two nails for it..a bit tricky.

Hung the picture of the bear in my living room.

Able to clean up in the kitchen a bit while in the small power chair.

And able to put away a bit of laundry.

Resting now. Next step is to eat breakfast and take meds and supps.

Smokey out this am. Difficult to breath. There is a forest fire to the north east.

Hoping to be able to do more this am but body is beginning to hurt too much.

The pictures piqued my curiosity! Great bargain!

kam.. I heard that the fire in NM is contained now. Do you have some near you also?

I managed to rehearse at church today (didn't make it last week, so progress!)

Feet are pretty bad. I think I forgot to put on the magnesium oil a friend of mine gave me. I've been using it twice a day and I think it's helping.

Today is our 39th wedding anniversary! We didn't go anywhere. Saving our $$ to go to Texas soon. Plus we ate out on Thursday. It was nice. [Smile]

Hope kayak is OK today!

Where's Jimmy and AK?? and don??
