I actually wrote a letter that was published in my local paper recently about how ridiculous it is that West Nile is so hyped every year and there is barely any recognition of tick borne diseases.
I LOVE the last lines in this article from Dr Siegel about how no one needs to really worry because babs is soo rare. Um, come to Fairfield County here in CT sometime. I have 7 friends from my school days who have lyme and coinfections. Recognition is rare, but these illnesses sure as hell are not. Jess.

Good for you for writing them a letter. I can't believe how they downplay lyme diseas and now babesiosis.

Thanks RDay. I know, its disgraceful the way these illnesses that have utterly decimated me and some people that I care about enormously get treated as if they are these rare oddities by the CDC and the mainstream medical community. Tick borne illnesses are an EPIDEMIC in this country. Period. Jess.

i remember many years ago in nys the docs flipping out and saying the pos babs test must be wrong...
