According to Dr. Patricia Doyle, Tamiflu has been connected to bizarre behavior in children. Patients using Tamiflu have reported delirium, hallucinations, delusion, convulsions and bizarre behavior.
Side effects include, nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, bronchitis, stomach pain, dizziness. and headache. Three people on the drug have committed suicide by leaping to their deaths.
The ingredients are too long for me to copy, but contain lots of garbage. Look them up in Google. Unbelievable!! Can't imagine what it would do to someone with Lyme disease.

- It started off way better than it ended up.
They've totally kept Chinese Star Anise out of any herbalists hands by "buying up" the supply but then they go and alter it.
There are far better options but it saddens me when they start with a good medicinal plant, take it off of the market so no one else can have it and then change it anyway. -

Keebler, When I looked up the ingredients, it said it was a cocktail of chemical ingredients. Awful!!
I agree with you about taking a good medicianl plant off the market. Sickening. Maybe someone will come up with an herbal antiflu combo.
Can't remember the name of the herbal combo that is targeted for travelers? Maybe that could be something to consider.

- The premise of Tamiflu started with Chinese Star Anise and they then moved to make it a lab concoction - but their licensing took that herb out of the market.
There are many herbal antiviral formualas. Many. Unfortunately, it is illegal to print any claims.
"Airborne" is popular traveler's supplement and it sort of skirts claims. Still, it's pretty basic.
Start with garlic. Allicin capsules are the best bet. From there, any good ND can help. This thread has the best resource links to find the really good links about herbs.
Still, (if at all possible) it is best to see a ND for individualized treatment, even if just the "flu" as each person is affected differently.
I know you've seen this before so scroll down for the resource links from herbalists -- and others knew to all this may find the full set of use.
When considering herbal / nutritional / adjunct methods:
if at all possible - because each person & each case is different - it's best to consult with an ILADS-educated LL (lyme literate) doctor who has completed four years of post-graduate medical education in the field of herbal and nutritional medicine -
- and someone who is current with ILADS' research & presentations, past and present.
Many LL NDs incorporate antibiotics (depending upon the licensing laws in their state). Some LLMDs and LL NDs have good working relationships.
When possible, it's great to have both a LLMD and LL ND and even better when they have a long-standing professional relationship.
Integrative / Holistic M.D., etc. (Be aware that those in this category can have various levels of formal herbal &/or nutritional education, perhaps even just a short course. Do ask first.)
Links to many articles and books by holistic-minded LL doctors of various degrees who all have this basic approach in common:
Understanding of the importance of addressing the infection(s) fully head-on with specific measures from all corners of medicine;
knowing which supplements have direct impact, which are only support and which are both.
You can compare and contrast many approaches.

- You might start with this one from that set above:
I suggest printing this out, and saving the full text to your computer desktop AND making a copy disc for future reference in case this link might not connect in the future.
As you can see, though, it's very complex and that's why it's best to have ND guidance.

I agree that natural is the way to go. However when I was still very ill with LD, I got the flu and took Tamiflu. I was much better in just 2 days. So for me it worked, and with no side effects.
