i have learned to hate marketers.

i know everyone needs a job and there probably are good people who are marketers...

but i not only have a lyme foggy brain , i also have 2 closed head injuries and thinking is hard.

going to new sites is hard. finding new supps that are good quality and reasonably priced is hard.

it poed me when i realized the health ins companies gave their people workshops on how to postpone claims so much the sick ppl gave up.

i remember thinking "thats like false advertising"

back then false advertising meant something.

now if you are lied to or fooled you lose unless you have more money for lawyers than the company who "got you"

the little guy loses so much. i really feel like it is planned, organized, and they all have "i got you" parties after they take our money.

anyone else have a problem with this?

Specifics?

Is anyone who sells anything a marketer?

Are you being intruded upon by phone or knocks on the door? If by phone, get on the DO NOT CALL LIST (a different one for cell phones).

If pop-up ads on computer, BLOCK POP UPS.

Or are we talking about the unscrupulous hawkers of things that are not what they should be? Just in general.

As for being able to obtain products that are helpful to my life, I'm glad to find those and someone has to either plant, grow harvest or acquire from someone who designs, builds and finishes it so that they can then send to me.

Every action of purchase seems to require much more homework than in times past, still, I've very glad to have the web to help search out the quality vendors. And they never invade my privacy.

Looking back, I see you are talking about the trouble distinguishing quality supplements from those that are not.

I, too, get infuriated with the supplements that are sold and I know they are not top quality.

Still, it would be impossible to stop them all for, in doing so, we would not be able to get any, even the good ones. And there are some excellent supplements without which I would have been gone from this earth many years ago.

I want the freedom to choose what I can purchase and use. Congress is always trying to take that away from us so it does pain me to see any trash sold in the name of supplements.

It can take a long to find the really good quality brands.

If you have a LL ND, they have lists of the top brands.

In general, when I see an ad for a new product, I can usually tell within 10 seconds if I just need to move on. Much has to do with their "voice" - I can't describe what I mean exactly as I'm just too tired.

As for products that are intended for those with lyme (and all that goes with it), you might just post a link to the manufacturer's direct site here and those with some exposure to that could help a bit.

It's a huge task treating oneself. I wish we could all have the best combination of LLMD and LL ND who could cover all the bases, just tell us what they think best and then we would not have to so much study for ourselves and could focus on the other aspects of healing. I wish.

You say " . . . poed me when i realized the health ins companies gave their people workshops on how to postpone claims so much the sick ppl gave up. . . "

Yeah -- about the marketing of health insurance - and that is really hard to figure out in advance which will be a good partner and which won't.

There are no pre-nuptial agreements for our marriage to our insurance. Sadly.

But they don't "partner" with us because they care. It's business. Just business and they intend to make money and block all attempts at giving up any.

And their marketers are just hawkers of a product. Marketing is not always (hardly ever) the same as providing a good service. Sure wish it were, though.

Images of those happy, healthy actors in commercials, slick pictures of a good life . . . and a false promise that they will be there to catch us . . . they aren't saying those things because they care.

Your state should have some kind of insurance commissioner's office or insurance advocacy office might be able to help in some ways (though not likely with lyme coverage).
