Can ony one recommend a fairly easy but good yoga DVD that could ease me in to yoga. Lots of people say it might help me with the arthritic type symptoms I'm having.

I've not been able to exercise in YEARS but I'm afraid if i don't find something i can do ill be in a wheelchair from the stiffness this disease has caused.

Thank you in advance for your suggestions.

PS i do experience some chest discomfort up into my neck with exertion but they say my heart is fine.

Peggy Cappy - Yoga for the Rest of Us, a series.

She's on PBS often, too. Her style, timing, attitude and voice are all just perfect for "restorative" style.

You might also consider Qi Gong or Tai Chi.

SixGoofyKids has recently posted a link for easy Pilates as well.

Simply stroll your neighborhood, a park &/or lightly dance in your living room to a song on the radio as much as possible, too.

No time is too short to enjoy some movement just for the fun of it. Even if just 20 seconds here and there. Not with the mindset of "exercise" but just for the joy of moving. That shift of mindset makes it much more enjoyable, I've found.

I do only modified yoga stretches, meaning that all my limbs are supported with none stuck up in the air without support. I use window sills, corners of walls, anything like a table for support, etc.

Another thing for you to consider might be movement in a warm pool - very good for joints and the entire body. I do a lot of stretching in the pool.
