My fiance just got a job offer there. I've never lived out of California. I was wondering what it's like there.
I will probably need docs who treat with alternative and conventional medicine. I'm doing great with a doctor of oriental medicine right now and would like to continue with that if we move.
What's the air quality is like there?
I do well in areas outside of the city because of MCS. I'd even prefer living in wooded areas because of the MCS.
Are there places live outside of Austin that would be good for me, yet not be a crazy commute (I doubt I can handle a metropolitan area)?
Is traffic crazy there???
Thanks!

It's a great little city!! Yes, plenty of traffic! The University of Texas is there, so it's a very busy place.
I would suggest living on the outskirts on the side of town where you will commute to. If you work on the north side, find a small town or suburb north of town, for example.
There are beautiful areas all around Austin. I could suggest some towns, but if you work on the other side of Austin, you would go crazy with the commuting.
I THINK the air quality is pretty good. There aren't any manufacturing plants there or anything, so it would just be vehicle emissions you need to worry about.
Forget about finding an LLMD in Texas though. There's only one and he is miles (!) from Austin.
PS .. You don't want to commute up and down Interstate 35, that is for sure.

Oh, I'm disabled so I'll probably be home a lot, but my fiance will be the one driving into Austin for work.
That's too bad about LLMDs, I'd be looking for someone more alternative at this point. I'm doing okay on herbs and methylation supps.
Yes, I would love some town suggestions.
My needs are pretty much nature and a health food with organic produce, supplements and bulk herbs if possible.
I do need to be away from car exhaust and pollution.
My doc said I'd probably do better in a drier environment. Is it humid in/near Austin or dry?
I live in a rural, woodsy area and love it right now, but there are some larger cities we can drive to if we need to.
I don't know if there's anything comparable in Austin. Is there anything like that near Austin?

Austin is yuppie-country. You will find plenty of health food stores, etc. It is the home of Whole Foods!!
Find out in which part of town the possible job is located. Let me know.

Oops. It looks like I was editing my post when you posted Tutu. Wow, I didn't know that about Whole Foods. That will work.

There are some fairly LL NDs, though. As long as you keep up your own research and don't need several abx, you should be okay.
